TROPHY CASE

Sacramento has 23 points in the 3rd quarter? Am I seeing this right? by thisisme5in nba

Like Tyson Chandler was supposed to change what's always been known to be true... Mike _'Antoni has no D.

It's a rare roll of the dice to have great talent and great work ethic. The people who rely on talent alone have the ability to become great, and those that have combined talent and hard work become the greatest ever. Sort of like Randy Moss could've probably beat Jerry Rice, if he had some hard-nosed, no nonsense work ethic.

If we give up Romo, Dan Snyder will be the first to dump your draft future into it, and cash.

19.5 sacks dude. That's impressive for anyone in the league. Almost 20+ sacks twice in his career, something no one has done. If we could trade D. Ware for a billion first round picks I'd take it.

Which was unfortunately a rather up-and-down experiment with the Cowboys.

Right. I know a good deal about the three other major American sports leagues (NBA, NFL, MLB), but know nothing of NHL. Is anyone willing to help? by cubbyspacein hockey

Thanks everybody so much for your insights and perspectives on the game of hockey. I've started to look at the under the 'Stars' section on ESPNDallas.com, as well as watching video highlights for the Dallas Stars. I'll definitely be clicking through the links that come up in the comments, some of which I've checked out already and have been a boon for information (Turns out, I don't mind Jimmy Wales staring into my soul every couple of months a year if I have that much information available at my fingertips). Hopefully I'll be able to refer to the Stars as 'we' as opposed to 'them' someday, much like I've done with the other area franchises, and preferably sooner rather than later.

In your opinions, what makes hockey different from any other sport? And would it be wrong to call hockey a fast-paced 5-on-5 soccer game?

I know the answers are going to be obvious for this, greatest player ever to live? Gretzky. But, are there any solid arguments for anyone else? (A la NBA, Jordan is considered the runaway favorite, but Wilt definitely deserves a mention).

Playoff runs definitely help with attendance. Just look at the Texas Rangers.

Another championship. Except with Dwight and Deron.

OKC has only won 3 games against Dallas. One of them was Durant getting his prayer answered.

The guy doesn't need to move. He just jumps and leans back. With a presence in the paint like D12, and a very talented and relatively young ball-handler in Deron, we can definitely squeeze a good string of championships in Dallas. Hopefully, here's to hoping for a Dirk/Deron/Dwight trio.

I'll take three super bowls in the last twenty years, one playoff win in the last decade with two division titles and having a team that has a shot of making the playoffs over bottom feeder Washington (which has none of the above accolades). Love the rivalry, and the trash talk that comes with sports fandom.

At least we don't have fans jump-shipping to the Cowboys just to spite people in the area and because of monied, yet severely incompetent ownership.

This is what usually happens when I tune into national sports radio. They always talk about Romo fucking up when the truth is that Romo has only been fully responsible for 2 of the 7 losses.

The Texas Rangers win negotiation rights with Yu Darvish for a reported $50+ Million. by NickyMcNikolaiin mlb

[–]cubbyspace 1 point2 points ago

More like postseason 'what the fuck we were one strike away twice' blues. Which is borderline suicidal depression like in fan terms. On the upside, pitching wins games, and if he is who we think he is, Angels end second while drowning in lack of payroll flexibility. Same applies to Rangers if Yu is a bust.
