Prayer is the same as talking to your self. However prayer also tends to take the form of asking a higher power for help and removing responsibility from yourself.

My best suggestion is to become intellectually confident in the position you have taken through a process of learning and understanding the world around you. Once you are confident in your beliefs- self confidence will follow quickly. Your philosophical beliefs should no more dominate your lives than, let's say, your political beliefs. Neither should control your emotional state.

The only thing is that a lot do not believe their views are bigoted because the bible justifies their beliefs, and that is the moral absolute. Therefore if the bible is the moral absolute, and it says to hate gays, then to hate gays is the good moral stance to have and cannot be bigoted. The bible says so,

While I am inclined to agree wholeheartedly there are logical leaps that must be made with the evidence at hand. The evidence may not be the proverbial smoking gun but it has to be taken as a logical conclusion even if evidence of a claim is lacking.
