Humble Indie Bundle for Android! (Also PC/Mac/Linux). Anomaly, Edge, Osmos, and World of Goo by newsoundwavein Games

[–]crossbrowser 14 points15 points ago

There are tons of pay-what-you-want bundles and I don't believe in supporting all of them just because they do great things. If they allow me to get good games at a decent price I'm all for it, but if they just create a bundle with no new offering (2 games from this one were in previous bundles, although not their Android version) I'm not gonna throw some cash just for fun.

That said, I did purchase the bundle to try Edge, I didn't care for the other games (I own Osmos and World of Goo ...multiple times already).

He already did if he paid for the games he said he played.

Why are publishers suddenly having a huge bitchfit over used game sales? by FeignNounin Games

A crucial difference between selling a used car and a used video game is that the old car will not perform as well as a new one, but the old game will. With the digital license they are artificially crippling the game.

Is there a point in denying creeps when no enemy hero is around (beside controlling how far the lane is pushed)?

EDIT: I meant denying a creep that is obviously going to die to enemy units while you're there.

One last thing about denies, if your ranged you will get less exp then if your melee.

Denies still give XP? And ranged heroes get less XP than melee heroes?

EDIT: Quote from the source given by Liquius below:

The amount of experience enemy heroes get for a denied unit is determined by the following: Each melee enemy hero in 1000 range of the killed unit gets 36/n experience, and each ranged enemy hero gets 18/n experience, where n is the total number of enemy heroes within 1000 range.

Yes they do, it goes through a review process done by users with a certain amount of points if you don't have enough points yourself.

Stack Overflow allows anything to be changed even by anonymous users so yeah it's doable if done right.

That is true if you don't put rules on editing a title. You could just have the new title go through a review process by moderators first. A little more work for mods, but it's easily doable.

Maybe allow editing titles freely if under a certain threshold to prevent mods from being spammed and other similar rules.

If Google, Facebook, Twitter, and Yahoo really want to raise awareness on SOPA, they should follow Wikipedia's idea and shut down their sites and services for the day. by cliftonixsin technology

[–]crossbrowser 0 points1 point ago

Maybe a blank screen explaining that this would be the result if SOPA passes and a way to continue to the normal page.

Shutting down such websites would cost them and their customers millions. I'm sure they would be willing to spend some money to stop SOPA, but the customers wouldn't be too happy about it.

Why? Is there some sort of penalty attached to using them? Last I remember there were more than enough coins in the game.

How big of a discovery would it be if we found a completely preserved dinosaur in a block of ice (like we've found of mammoths)? Alternate question: Is this even possible? by JasonMackerin askscience

[–]crossbrowser 2 points3 points ago

No scientist here, but something similar happened when scientists found a dinosaur really well preserved (flesh and organs).

There was a story on Discovery I believe that explained how they went about studying it without exposing the fossil to air by scanning it with radiation.

It's marketing:

  • Person A: Posts funny/interesting picture
  • Person B: I really wish they made that in a shirt
  • Person C: Oh, look they do! What a coincidence.

Yes, I'm trying 'z' and 'x' for control groups (I don't think I need more than 2, or event more than 1).

I don't know the exact name but it selects all units under control of the hero except the hero itself. For example, it would select all the spiderlings of Broodmother, the converted creeps of Chen, etc.

Similar to a control group, but automatic and there's a key for that.

I tried the hero to space, but I didn't like it so I moved it to 1 (2 is my "other units" key). Courier on C is nice.

I'm still investigating the best keys for my inventory, currently trying alt+qwerdfg but that will probably change soon.

I really want to use the ` key better though, it worked kinda well for shop, it's working well for leveling up abilities too. It will probably end up being the shop.

Still playing with bots too until I'm comfortable with my keys (plus it's been such a long time since I've played, I'm really not good at the moment).

The command will make all right-click actions be 'attack' actions by default right? I wonder if that could cause issues.

Using an extra mouse button for voice chat is a good idea, I'll probably use that (although I only have one easily accessible button, I wish I had more).

Interesting, I think I missed the 'right click denying' option, I'll be sure to enable it.

Control groups aren't useful very often, but for a couple of heroes they are mandatory (brood, meepo, beast, etc.) and when using the summoning book.
