That dog is doing exactly what it was bred to do. I bet he loves it.

60,000,000,000 Spent on the TSA and other disturbing facts [info graph] by opn420in conspiracy

[–]crimeandpun_ishment 0 points1 point ago

I was traveling through the San Francisco airport security manned by a group of annoyingly loud and zealous agents. When I was about to walk through the metal detector an agent approached and asked me if I had emptied my pockets. When I said yes he pointed at an empty Ziploc bag sticking out of my jeans and said, "How about that? That's why I'm here." Little did he know (and unbeknownst to me) I had two Old Timer pocket knives in my carry on that were not detected. Those two knives went through six security checkpoints (three of them TSA) and two customs X-rays and were never discovered. TLDR; I unknowingly went through several airports with two pocket knives in my carry on and the only thing anyone was concerned about was an empty Ziploc bag.

I've ridden the elevator in Taipei 101 which I believe claims to be the current fastest elevator in the world traveling at about 55 fps. My ears were popping constantly on the way up.

Save over $1/gal on gasoline this spring by drwells44in Frugal

[–]crimeandpun_ishment 3 points4 points ago

No, cruise control does the exact opposite. The goal of cruise control is to maintain a constant speed. With cruise control, on your car will decelerate when going downhill to compensate for the increased speed due to momentum/+gravity and will accelerate when going uphill to compensate for decreased momentum/-gravity. To get optimal gas mileage you want to accelerate (mostly due to gravity) when going downhill and then let your car's momentum carry you uphill while slowing down somewhat. This creates less work on your engine than slowing when going downhill and then accelerating to maintain speed when going uphill.

WOW those are great! I know it's been posted before but do you have any others. I hadn't heard of Alt + Tab before and I love it.

edit: my favorite shortcut is to use Alt + arrow keys to page backward and forward.

Home made dough hand tossed pizza I just finished, sooooo good! by npdewey83in food

[–]crimeandpun_ishment 0 points1 point ago

Or you could get a docker. I know its a little pricy (this being the cheapest on Amazon) but if you make pizza a lot it's really handy. If you happen to have a friend who works at a bakery they can probably order you one for 2 or 3 dollars.

edit: should have read the other comments before posting (see Gawdor).
