Hey guys. The reason i'm shutting down the site is stagnant growth and little desire to continue development. If i'm going to be developing a project I like to give it my 100%. CombatPicks was a fun project but I can't justify keeping the site around with a small user base like it has (700 people). Tried to promote the site to outside forums and was generally received poorly. Gave away a bunch of reddit gold accounts here and while people liked it it did little to help growth.

Bottom line is there is a no way I could make money with the site and I don't want my name associated with a project that is not well maintained. I was planning on keeping the site ad-free as long as possible then slowly introducing non-intrusive ads to cover costs. The user base would need to be over 20x it's current rate to begin to cover any development costs and re-occurring hosting.

What a complete role reversal for Honda. As someone who had a few Honda's (CRX, Civic, Accord) it's really sad to see that they've basically lost all their market appeal to the enthusiast crowd. They really lost that spark that makes people excited about their products by not innovating and making cars that look like they're designed by my parents.

I think it's awesome what you're doing! If you truly have a passion for what you are doing and are able to sustain a comfortable life than who gives a fuck what other people think. It seems most people (especially in the US) are caught up in this never-ending rat race that is achieving more material goods and social status.

So yea, I have a ton of respect for what you do. Keep working hard to progress your skills and learn new things.
