You are tiring me out. Ok now... He said "The single greatest reason". That's not something that can be misunderstood. When I said "we don't care" you misunderstood is as me saying that no atheists ever care about Christians being hypocritical.

Hypocrisy jokes are funny and maybe some people became atheists because of how they saw Christians acting... But that's a pretty lame reason.

If you don't believe in something because of the actions of its followers then that isn't critical thinking IMO... You should believe in something or not believe in something based on the evidence for it.

The point of this post is in response to that guys quote. I didn't become an atheist because I saw people not acting very Christian... I came an atheist because I realized how stupid believing in a magical sky daddy is.

I don't care if people don't live up to their faith's standards. Also, you are missing the point...

We aren't atheists because we see you sinning. You are human. Everybody makes mistakes. Even if you lived the perfect christian life I couldn't believe all of the superstitious nonsense.

Now, granted... we do like to tease fundies (and ourselves) for not holding true to our own standards.

You can not prove the existence of a god by what has inspired art. Santa Claus, Scientology, Mormonism, Unicorns, and fairies have all inspired beautiful art... this isn't proof that they are true.
