Thanks for doing the AMA this is great! Besides Walden, are there other schools you might suggest investigating for a teacher who just needs certification? I'll be remotely attending class from the poverty of Peru.

Would you recommend Walden for a teacher who just needs the degree to get a raise? It still seems expensive at about $15,000 or so if my math holds up. I'll be connecting from a 3rd world country to pay first world prices...

I know! I love Attenborough, Secret life of plants, life, mammals...his message. Undergrowth was epic. But at night I wouldn't get anywhere near sleep with those beasties covering the fucking room.

I think I get what you're saying - and I'm not suggesting that he is the candidate of the 99%. (Who is by the way?) I mean, yeah he has some of the craziest ideas since sarah palin. But watch the video please.

If MPAA spent $94 m to support <cough bribe cough> these bills then he must have a pretty good reason to smile. Of any politicians friendly to hollywood wouldn't he be among the most friendly?

The timing was great too because the camera was just panning over the crowd to show the "social media" question screen and they all went rather ape-shit.

Yes, the issue was abortion, but there's no joke. It was just a rare interesting moment during the whole fetid affair that you won't see on any major news recap.

Things I'd like to see in Civ 6 by Chet_Steadmanin civ

[–]civVII 2 points3 points ago

To be honest I'm not sure about the 2 phase thing, it does sound awkward: Perhaps with your axeman in range of the unfortunate archer, click on the archer. That chooses "attack" when it's attack time - so you would not have to address the unit twice. I just want multi-player to work again because at least I know human players will present an interesting challenge.

And about the city resources I am with you. I don't know yet. Back to tiles - only when you're in the city view? Seems hokey.

Things I'd like to see in Civ 6 by Chet_Steadmanin civ

Guys I've had this idea for a while brewing in my cranium.

Picture for a moment a Sid Meier's Civ 6 with no grid at all. No hexes. AND. And. No squares. I know. Weird right?

Ok so what does this mean you ask rightly! Well the units have ranges. Melee units like warriors have almost no range but they at least have a "bubble" around them in which they can attack or defend or block. And you can see that bubble glowing outwards a bit - even on enemy units - as you get close or when you're figuring out with your mouse where to drop your scout.

Also: There would have to be 2 phases to each turn.

Phase 1) move units

Phase 2) (if any units are in attack range) Attack or choose to not attack

In this way a scout could breeze past a warrior if the warrior was weak and not able to risk an attack that turn.

I got the idea playing some old Sid Meier's railroads. And how slick it was to be building the road / track / whatever exactly where and how I wanted it, and caring about whether to build a tunnel through a mountain or go around it. And I thought, damn I'd love to have some musketmen trolling along these hills here with some new fangled artillery waiting down below to back them up. I secretly want them to take the Sid Meier's railroads engine and revamp it. You are free to send out your units exactly how you wish...not confined by a grid.

Please share thoughts, criticism. And thanks for posting the original post!

(If you hit Ctrl+G out of nostalgia you would see the CITY RANGES flash for a second, in other words the big bubbles around the cities identifying how close the nearest neighboring town could be.)

daily mail = fake news

Fox News just did a 7-minute post-debate analysis and didn't mention Ron Paul at all, even though he came in second in NH and a close third in Iowa. I'm not even a Ron Paul supporter but that shit's ridiculous. by RogerReluctantin politics

[–]civVII 0 points1 point ago

(According to Jon Stewart) This has been pretty common. Fox routinely does not consider Ron Paul to be a serious candidate and do not factor him in. Any Ron Paul supporters who watched FOX before have already changed the channel.

Colbert has made a career out of trolling...guests that he interviews, news he reports...and now he has attained the rare and exalted status of Ubertroll. There is a wide open niche for making fun of the electoral process and I'm fucking elated to see him assing around in a national election.
