IIRC, they hunt wolves too. And the eagles can kill the animal by using its talons to pierce the heart of their prey. Badassery.

I don't have details about how much insurance helped, but supposedly,

Of 2,100 Korean businesses burned or looted last year, fewer than one in four have reopened, according to the survey conducted by the Korean American Inter-Agency Council, a coalition of nine groups and agencies.

Not saying that I would have risked my life for my store insured or not, just something to consider.

I'm not apologizing for the riots or trying to rationalize them, I'm just stating facts about the environment at the time of the riots. It's naive to think you can narrow it down to one reason, or even a handful anyway. Everything from poverty, inequality, frustration, misunderstandings, criminal elements, etc, it all contributed to the powder keg that was LA in 1992.

They did what they had to do given the circumstances, that's for sure. I'm glad I've never been put in a situation like that.

There were many reasons there was a lot of tension between Koreans and other minorities. The killing of Latasha Harlin was a big one though: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Latasha_Harlins

Spiders can be cute too..kind of by Sad_Butterfingerin aww

[–]chenliway 3 points4 points ago

They are awesomely smart too, I think that's what makes them more relatable to us. I found one in my room when I was a kid and kept it in a jar as a pet. Watching that thing hunt was really cool. I'd try to catch flying bugs for it to eat. When I put the prey in its jar, the bug would be buzzing around and the spider would just patiently track it with its head/eyes, move into a good position, and either jump and snatch the prey out of mid air or get it when it landed. You could really see it calculating and considering all the obstacles and plan of attack while it hunted.

Intelligence + big eyes + fuzzy = easier to anthropomorphize.

Where did you keep your money? You don't have to be specific, I was just wondering how close they came to finding your money (if it was in the house) during the search.

Reddit, what was the best song you discovered via a movie or a tv-series, etc. I recently found mine by Dino_Din0in AskReddit

[–]chenliway 0 points1 point ago

Randomly rented Bright Future (Japanese film) from blockbuster once on a whim. I knew nothing about the movie. The song "Mirai" by The Back Horn was in the final credits and I had to look it up immediately once I heard it. Amazing bass and drums and melody and... everything about the song is amazing!

Reddit: what do you think about inverted nipples? by intr0vertedthrowawayin AskReddit

[–]chenliway 0 points1 point ago

TIL inverted nipples are sometimes called "invaginated nipples"

In my personal opinion this is such a tiny "issue" of the many little things guys can be nitpicky about. In fact, if you hadn't put a term to this, it would not have even registered with me. It's a mundane characteristic in my eyes. I wouldn't take special notice of inverted nipples just like I wouldn't take special notice of sharp knees.

I've been with a girl with said nipples. If she asked me how I felt about her nipples being inverted, I would ask to do a thorough investigation so I could form my opinion but really I'd just be playing with nipples. Everyone loves playing with nipples.

I think this is the most I've typed the word nipples ever. Nipples.
