I have a job offer and need some insight on the city. by ametzzzin nyc

You can def live in the city for that money but most likely not Manhattan, unless you look at Yorkville. Even then you'll need roommates. Single bedrooms in Manhattan are around $1800 minimum ($1600 prob gets you a tiny studio). The rents are that much cheaper in Brooklyn. In hip places like Williamsburg or Greenpoint, you're still paying around $1700-$1800 for a 1BR. Crown Heights is def on the rise and you may find cheaper 1BRs there. Keep in mind shit's expensive out here, but there are a lot of free events to go to, also, like the Met Museum, which only asks for a donation. Good luck.

Could you be more specific about why Uniqlo suits blow? I'm admittedly naive about clothes, so I'm curious... Thanks!

That was my immediate reaction. I'm so happy to find that I'm not alone. I thought progress meant improvements. It was so much better before.

What do you mean by "cheap"? Do you mean Italian suits for under $1000 or just any ol' cheap suits?

For the first category, definitely go to Century 21 downtown. They have a separate suit room with great service and you can get $2000 suits for around $600. They have cheaper suits, also, if that's what you're after.

Also, you should try Uniqlo if you just want cheap suits. You can get a nice well-designed suit for $100.

It's really amazing that he had stayed anonymous for so long. Kudos to Roger Gastman for chasing him down.
