Nope. It's just regular ol' Windows 7. I'm not too keen on trying out Windows 8 Beta right now.

Also, Windows 8 has no Window Start Button. :c

Yup. I found Girl Who Leapt Through Time really sad.

Same with movies like Gran Torino.

I felt the same. I really can't stand the art style which makes it a bit difficult to watch. I really want to get over it and continue watching though.

This is what makes me want to watch Clannad. It seems nearly everyone got their heartstrings torn out for this show.

I hope to start and finish this series soon.

Has Bioware's Mass Effect 3 ending proved Quantic Dream's Heavy Rain ending approach is best? by Drakengardin truegaming

I recently finished Fallout New Vegas. Despite it being a simple slideshow with a narrative, it was leagues better than what ME3 gave us. Each decision you decided to make actually showed in that final epilogue. That is how ME3's ending should have been.

Did anyone else just not find Mass Effect that good? by StezzerLolzin truegaming

[–]catzb 0 points1 point ago

I personally enjoyed the ME storyline. I am not an avid reader of Sci-Fi so maybe that had something to do with it. For me, it was enjoyable and easy to follow and provided a vast universe with tons of cool information. I read almost the entire Codex and just found myself immersed in the story.

And now, out of curiosity, what is an example of a good story to you? Please provide an example that is not a specific "sci-fi" example. Just any example will do.

Singularity + Throw will destroy everything. They both have super fast recharge speeds and the only times you need to use Warp is for armored/barrier units. Which are somewhat rarer than the past two games.

This is what the ending of ME2 did so fabulously. EVERYONE has their fair share in the suicide mission. They all made apperances and all of your squad mates had parts.

ME3? It had NONE of that. The last I see or hear of Ashley was when I told her to join Hacket and lead her own forces. How come that did not play any part into the end? AT ALL?

Needless to say, I was disappointed.

More than that though, I wanted to see Elcor Infantry...

"Battlefield to become subscription service hints EA" - The Metro. If you've ever wanted to kill a franchise, this is how. by Herping_et_Derpingin battlefield3

[–]catzb 1 point2 points ago

Not really. Like I mentioned above, a lot of things in ME3 were incredible.

I loved the improved combat, the story, the new inventory system/skill system.

And I loved some of the decisions that you had to make. They had way more consequences than previous games. Despite the fact that these decisions had no impact on the ending.

And no. I don't consider it a huge risk to buy EA games. I've put in over 100 hours in BF3 and regret none of it. Yes some features are missing but the overall package delivers a really great and fun experience to me.

Sure, go ahead and say I'm blind. That I'm getting screwed by EA by purchasing an "unfinished" game. It doesn't change the fact that I've put in many hours playing that unfinished game and had tons of fun playing it.

I wish games had more of these "Galactic Conquest" modes. by catzbin gaming

[–]catzb[S] 0 points1 point ago

Yup. You chose a faction when you fired up the multiplayer and had options to attack or defend your territories and such. It was great.

Please tell me why purchasing ME3 was a mistake. I bought it Day 1 and don't regret it at all.

Yes the ending is horrendous as many people have said, but everything leading up to the finale was absolutely fantastic.

So again, please tell me why purchasing ME3 was a mistake.

Video games are art. Hands off, politicians. by yankeewkwin gaming

[–]catzb 2 points3 points ago

So, what would you say about games like Red Dead Redemption? Bioshock? Grand Theft Auto IV?

I consider all of those art. And all of those are AAA games as well.

Sure, at a glance games like GTA IV may look like pure entertainment designed to give its audience a cheap thrill. HOWEVER, if you look at its core, its story and its characters represent an artistic form, in my opinion.

The development of these characters is really engaging. I fell in love with the Nico Bellic character and the setting it was located in.

As for RDR. Just take a look around. The atmosphere is incredible. I've spent hours in that game just wandering around and hunting for skins. I love the changes in day to night. The sounds change. Your whole environment changes as this takes place.

And of course Bioshock. It tells a compelling story which leaves you in shambles at the end. This is exactly what movies are designed to do as well. I guess you can argue that "well, movies like Transformers aren't really art" But if we start saying that, we might as well say nothing is truly "art"

The problem is, video game awards are a complete and utter joke. The biggest award show around is Spike's VGA. At least that's what gets the most attention anyway.

Have you seen that show? It is an absolute shame to the video game industry. They had someone get "t-bagged" on stage during the presentation.

A few years back, for "best character" the guy from CoD:BO won over the character John Marston. (Kratos and Ezio were the other nominees)

As of now, the video game industry isn't at a point where the mass population see it as a form of art. It is a mere way of being cheaply entertained. So until people begin to recognize video games as more than cheap entertainment, no award show will cater to people who genuinely see it as an art form.
