BTW her name is misspelled in the blog's title - it's Rutu Modan. Her graphic novel "Exit Wounds" won the 2008 Eisner for best new graphic novel.

You're right, most teachers earn more than minimum wage (a teacher with a BSc would probably earn more than the average teacher), and not every nice looking girl in a bikini would get a one million dollar advertising deal. Cartoons make a point by taking things to the extreme, nevertheless I'm sure the point is well understood.
