TROPHY CASE

Need help with the struggling wife. by workthrowaway2in keto

[–]bunnygn 0 points1 point ago

This is important. I'll tell you right now it has nothing to do with anything besides this: her head is not in the game. Diet is 100% mental, the mental fortitude to eat the right things and reject foods that you may love. You cannot force someone to diet, if they have not accepted for themselves that they are going to be successful with their diet, than they won't.

She needs to decide if this is what she really wants, and then execute with the ferociousness of a million tigers.

But if you were wondering why you are doing so much better than her: 1) your head is clearly in the game 2) you are a boy 3) IF

If a food has 36 carb 4 fiber and 2 sugars. Should i record the total carb as 36 or 2? what happened to the other carbs? by SriLankain keto

[–]bunnygn 6 points7 points ago

You should record it as 32, 36 carbs minus 4 fiber gets you 32 net carbs. Those 2 grams of sugar are just devil dandruff that should be avoided as much as humanly possible.

When you eat as opposed to how much you eat by bunnygnin xxfitness

Really? I get the "eyes are bigger than my stomach" syndrome big time. Example, yesterday I tried a 23/1, because I hadn't done one in a while (also did fasted training), I was so hungry after the gym I got a 4x4 from In N Out (probably like 1k calories). I was full like 2/3 way through. Those last 3 bites I definitely should have passed on, I was stuffed, couldn't eat anymore if I tried.

If you are having an eating problem try a 24-hour fast. Nothing gets me more in tune with what really hunger feels like than a good whole day fast.

I'm just saying if your going to take a 30-45 minute Zumba class there are much better things you could do with that time that will actually increase your overall fitness, cardiovascular, or strength levels. I would even say a solid 30 minute run is better than Zumba class.

Well I work from home, generally, so the only "social pressure" to eat comes when my SO gets home and he is hungry for some dinner, which is why my windows is later and includes dinner.

When I am at work, everybody knows I don't really "eat lunch", or if I do eat it's at weird times, so I don't get bugged about food at all.

Social situations are hard, and I am having the hardes't time with them. People give me so much shit when I don't eat at a restaurant, I hate constantly being offered food when I have made the decision to just have water. I try hard to plan around those times and will move my window around, but sometimes I can't. Also, drinking. I love to go out and have a good time, and so far that is just not working at all with this cut :(

Not that I have noticed, I never feel sluggish.

I lift durring the window, snacks before, big dinner after. On rest days when I skate, I eat all my food well before I go to practice.

[–]bunnygn[S] 0 points1 point ago

Cup of black coffee around 10am, and I normally eat from 2-6ish.

Lifting days I'll have a light lunch or some snacks, gym at 5:30 which includes a post workout protein shake, followed by me zooming home to a pound of some sort of meat/fish around 7pm.

Rest days (days I skate) I will eat a larger lunch and a small dinner. But that's mostly because I hate to skate on a full stomach.

If my body is starving, I will eat a snack after my window is over (once a week-ish). I don't like going to bed with a grumbly-hungry stomach.

Last year I did do a 22/2 fasted workouts regimen. It was pretty brutal, doable, but brutal. The not eating wasn't the hard part, it was moving around heavy weight while having not eaten for 22 hours.

You are correct. I should edit to read: Burpees because you are a crazy mofo.

Not sure what kinds of food you are eating but your calories seem about right.

Whats all wrong is your exercise. If you think this is a form of lifting, or providing you with any sort of physical benefit, that would be a big fat nope. Besides just getting your hr up those Zumba and "Ultimate Conditioning" classes are worth jack imho.

Start lifting heavy things. Then do some real ultimate conditioning, like a couple rounds of overhead presses then farmers carry then ropes and maybe some burpees just for funsies.

A quick question about macro's.... by PIZZAtheHUTTjrin keto

[–]bunnygn 0 points1 point ago

Your macros don't have to be spot on. However, I would stick to a strict keto ratio for at least 2 weeks (if not a month), then adjust things to see what is best for your body.

Also, 1400 does seem low for your size. I am a 5'8" female and I generally don't go under 1500 calories, however I do a lot of exercise. The more of a deficit you create the faster you will lose, but I can tell you with that little protein some of it will be muscle mass.

What were your biggest unexpected fitness setbacks? by caitiecatin xxfitness

[–]bunnygn 4 points5 points ago

When I recently realized that during my massive weight loss I wasn't actually making significant strength gains, they were weak sauce, and I actually plateaued for a solid month too.

And the sadness that I still want to drop another 20lbs of fat but because I have been eating more I haven't been loosing much at all. However, I have been killing it in the gym, PR's everywhere.

My husband is a spitting image of your gal bladder story. Since starting keto his "emergency poo attacks" have nearly disappeared entirely.

What does /r/Keto think of "green juicing"? by desullin keto

[–]bunnygn 0 points1 point ago

If your doing body weight stuff might I suggest moving to something like Convict Conditioning. Much better as far as levels of progression, and difficulty, than say just being able to do 100 pushups. Plus some of the exercises, like body weight squats, will help you when you start getting into the weighted versions of those movements.

What does /r/Keto think of "green juicing"? by desullin keto

[–]bunnygn 1 point2 points ago

herpderp here is making some excellent points (not condescending, just fact)

I'm not trying to really lose much weight, but mainly tone up, then start weightlifting more.

The plan you are doing, and even more so with thinking about juicing, is 110% not in line with your goals. If you want to lose your gut, drop your body fat percentage. Cardio is probably the most long drawn-out and non-muscle-preserving way to accomplish that, but if it floats your boat then do it. Just know you are well on your way to being skinny fat (therefore requiring more work later when you decide to go get strong).

"Toning" is simply the reduction of body fat and the addition of some muscles. Big boys and girls would refer to it as a body recomp, with probably the best example being Leangains. If you asked me how to accomplish the goals you listed above I would say start some IF, get to the gym and lift heavy things, get enough protein, eat at a calorie deficit on rest days, get enough rest, rinse and repeat. Just because your body fat is not where you want it to be right now doesn't mean you should not be lifting, if anything it's more of an excuse to be lifting.

GF in a 4 month long plateau... help? by joehouinin keto

[–]bunnygn -1 points0 points ago

but it's not like she is trying to just get "cut"

Myth. If she is at 30% bf then exercising will only help the process. And no Zumba or P90X crap, get in the gym and lift heavy things.

I'm not an extreme couponer but why pay $10 for PB when it's $5 one week. I feel bad if there is a local keto-er nearby, because I bought it ALL.

Keto friendly protein powder kicked me out! Question about macros for the keto experts by lutheranianin keto

[–]bunnygn 0 points1 point ago

If you aren't lifting heavy then there is no reason for you to be supplementing with protein shakes. In fact if you aren't exercising at all eat more fat. Now if you wanted to start working out, not Zumba or 7lb dumbbell shenanigans, then sure get your protein. Also, not familiar with that brand, the fact that you say "net" carbs concerns me, your protien should be whey and tiny bit of sweet stuff, if they have fiber in there then they are using fillers and I would get a new brand.

easing myself out of keto, still wanting to stay fairly low-carb. should i reduce my dietary fats if i up my carbs? by almondrockerin keto

[–]bunnygn 1 point2 points ago

First, if you stop keto you are going to bloat and gain back water weight, be prepared. Second, <60g might even keep you in keto, some people can go up to 100g and manage to stay in. Third, if you stop keto, >100g carbs, then yes I'd drastically lower your fat content.

Your trying to justify cheating, don't. But if you absolutely must, then do it, be done with it, and go work out or something.
