Select multiple files and press F2 to rename them all at once, incrementally.

I always use BRU as an example of the worst GUI ever made. Still, it's quite versatile, you just have to stare 10 minutes at it to find out what you're doing.

Any good tips for voiceover work in Adobe Premiere? by egoherodotusin WeAreTheFilmMakers

[–]blobkat 1 point2 points ago

Clean up: Use adobe audition, since it offers a lot more audio capabilities than Premiere.

In Premiere with voiceovers I just always do the following:

  • go to the audio mixer panel
  • for your voiceover track, set a bass effect, boost it 1.5db or something, adds a bit of depth
  • Then after the bass effect, an EQ to boost the general output volume (often needed)until it's comfortably sitting in the -6db -> 0db range (but don't make it too loud! anything above 0db in your master audio meter is essentially distorting the sound!
  • Then, a Dynamics effect with the standard compressor, maybe with a bit more ratio (and then compensating the output volume), and a limiter on 0db and 10ms.

If you're planning on doing much work, I'd suggest spending about $150 on some decent microphone with USB output. And a popfilter if needed.

YSK that you can just open the .docx file with 7-zip file manager or something comparable, and you can find in the subfolders all of the assets you need.

If you ever receive a word doc that actually has a decent big logo in it, it's a great way to get the original file.

Yeah I want to control some pretty strong lights outdoor in the garden with it... the relays can close up to 5A at 240 VAC, so I guess that would be my max. requirement...

This will be buried, but I once had control over a LED billboard display on a metal festival when it was abandoned at 5AM in the morning... it had to happen.

After Effects Filters by Amish_with_Uzisin VideoEditing

You can achieve a lot of these cool effects by "split toning", it's done with a Curves effect, and tweaking the curves per color.

Also, oversaturation. A lot of it.

Still doesn't take away the fact that Kingston products pretty much suck. We once bought a batch of ten 4GB kingston sticks and half of them didn't work after using twice.

ok so I was stupid and ordered a PC with a video card and actually expected the video card to look like the pic. Came in and NO VGA, just DVI and HDMI. onboard video is probably disabled, so what's the best way to get dual video? by wontonotnowin hardware

[–]blobkat 0 points1 point ago

I don't think it's possible to enable the on board while still keeping your graphics card's ports available.

And watch out, you can never go from HDMI to VGA without an expensive (+- $150) converter box!! See my reply above for more info.

You can't stack it like that only in one port! HDMI is purely digital, whereas DVI still can offer an analog channel like VGA.

On the other hand, digitally speaking, HDMI and DVI are compatible.

So, use a HDMI -> DVI converter if you want to connect a DVI screen, and a DVI -> VGA converter on the graphics card's DVI port to connect your VGA screen.

Heck, in 30 years, communication better be so advanced that you can control everything with your voice, no matter where you are.

Noob question: Abobe premiere added some stripes, How do I remove them? by ordagoin VideoEditing

[–]blobkat 0 points1 point ago

Yeah, that could be it, that he put 16:9 footage in a 4:3 sequence and then that sequence in a 16:9 sequence again. the first step adds the horizontal black bars, the second one adds the vertical black bars.

If the bars are unwanted, the entire workflow should be widescreen.

[–]blobkat 0 points1 point ago

Yeah I think by now it's obvious that his sequence settings didn't match the original footage settings, but just to give you an insight on things:

Putting wider content on a narrower screen: adding black bars on top and bottom = letterboxing

Putting narrower content on a wider screen: adding black bars on left and right = pillarboxing.

Premiere Pro Cs5.5 24 and 30 frames same project help by jefferydperryin editors

[–]blobkat 0 points1 point ago

I just said "standard behavior by premiere is to leave the timing correct", so he doesn't have to do jack shit, he just has to see what's better, putting a 30fps clip into a 24fps sequence or vice versa.
