TROPHY CASE

Help! Burping, hissing noises coming from right corner of dashboard. by youignorantslutin prius

[–]bigsquish 1 point2 points ago

the RIGHT side of the dashboard? On most cars there is a vacuum boost to the brake system, but I don't know if the prius uses that setup. And it would be on the LEFT side anyway. The only thing I can think of on the right side of the dash is the cabin air filter, which is located behind the glove box.....

I'm a 28 y/o single dad of 2. We need your help! by brae00in phoenix

Those kids are her biggest leverage over you. I understand completely what you're talking about though. Wear a wire when you speak to her in person - I use an Ipod on voice record in my pocket, works well enough, I just have to be careful not to shift around too much. What else do you have need of?

Thanks. Years of internet use has taught me to ignore anything but content. I don't normally notice the sidebar.

Document, Document, Document. Document every single moment you have them. You can ask for child support from your ex. I'm currently fighting with my ex-wife to pay for her half of our son's medical. Her argument is that she shouldn't have to pay for it, because she doesn't think he needs the treatment. I know your time and money and resources and sanity are limited, but have a paper trail for EVERYTHING. Every dime you spend on anything for those kids, to include your time. Maybe you can't get child support from your ex, but at the very least, it will cover your ass. The state of Arizona has ONE interest in those kids, and that's keeping them off state funded support. The state doesn't care which parent makes more money or not. But if there is any change in your income +/- 15% then you can redo the child support worksheet. The parenting plan should also reflect actual time spent. I've been fighting this battle for the last 2 years, I'm speaking from experience.

Let people know what side of town you live in, that way, it's easier to coordinate a little help.

Good luck

While we are asking noob questions - what the heck are people talking about, when they use the word squid. I've tried googling it, but I don't think people are talking about Sailors, or animals.

am i the only one who wants to be a stay at home dad? by curious_kitchenin MensRights

[–]bigsquish 1 point2 points ago

I do. I save very email, every text message, every phone call... does anybody know a good android app for recording calls? I even put my MP3 player on voice record when we meet face to face. Just to cover my ass. She has already blackmailed me into letting her claim him as a dependent on her taxes when it was suppose to be my turn.... she is such a greedy person. All of my assets are now in my new wife's name to shield them from her.

My biggest fear right now is that she will make some false child abuse claim against me, in an effort to extort more money out of me. I've got a meeting with a lawyer this week to see how I can protect myself, my son and wife from my ex.

Easiest Foreign Language? by dearastronomerin ASU

[–]bigsquish 0 points1 point ago

It depends on how apt you are learning languages - it takes about 3-4 days for your brain to "click" into a new language. Some people are better than others. I suck at languages like Vietnamese and Mandarin Chinese because I'm tone deaf, and those languages are tonal, i.e. the pitch in your voice changes the meaning. Study a language like Mandarin, or Arabic... Spanish will seem very close to English after that.

Easiest Foreign Language? by dearastronomerin ASU

[–]bigsquish 2 points3 points ago

As someone living in AZ - Spanish is probably the most useful. But German and English are like brother/sister. Also, if you take ACO 101/102 - you learn JAVA, a computer programming language, and that counts as a foreign language credit also.

Source: I'm an ACO Major and I study languages as a hobby.

I am lucky enough to be a (1/2 time) stay at home dad. The rest of the time he is with my ex. It's not as easy as I thought it would be, but the commute is really easy, and it comes with an awesome benefits package. I quit a successful military career of 12 years to be a dad. It's a dream job, and we need more men who are stay at home dads in my opinion.

  • The downside - Whether I'm at the mall, or the playground, or the grocery store, stay-at-home-moms don't exactly welcome me.

My ex wife is a deadbeat, and sometimes, she calls me up 20 minutes before school starts and says to come pick up my son, because she doesn't feel like driving him to school. Nor does she care enough to take him to his allergist appointments (I'm a big fan of my son being able to breathe), the same allergist who is only open during school hours, so I take him, and I bring him to school an hour late on wednesdays, and I'm the one who endures the looks of disapproval from the (all female) office staff when we walk in late... </rant>

My son went through the exact same thing. His vocabulary exploded within a couple of weeks of the tubes being put in. He still got infections every once in a while, but they were much less severe.
