How to cool off my computer room by ghostofmybrainin Frugal

[–]belandil 1 point2 points ago

Use flexible dryer vent hose to direct the exhaust of your computers out the window. You can build a piece to fit into your window out of plywood with circular holes drilled in it to adapt to the dryer vent. You should have one vent hose for every computer and the computers should be as close to the window as possible so that airflow isn't restricted. Use cable ties to connect the vent hose to the back of the computer.

Places in downtown Madison to pump air into your bike tires? by isabelcin madisonwi

[–]belandil 0 points1 point ago

Not many go over 120 psi, but most bikes should not inflated to 120 psi:

The ideal bicycle tire pressure depends, in part, on the type of tire. Ideal tire pressure varies depending on the terrain on which the tire is designed for use, the tire manufacturer, and the width of the tire. Generally, narrow, smooth-treaded tires require a higher tire pressure than wider, more rugged tires. According to a 2008 article published in "Bicycling" Magazine, the ideal tire pressure for road tires is typically 80 to 130 pounds-per-square-inch, or psi; while mountain bike tires generally require inflation pressure of 30 to to 50 psi; and ideal hybrid tire pressure usually ranges from 50 to 70 psi. You should never inflate your tires below or beyond the tire manufacturer's recommended range.

You are incorrect.

Bike tires have a much lower volume than a car tire, and most gas station pumps don't have gauges. As a consequence, one can quickly over pressurize a tire and cause a rupture.

Mountain bikes take 30-40 psi, and hybrids take about 60. This is well under the 80-100 psi that gas station pumps are set to.

Don't use a gas station pump to inflate your bike tire. You'll overinflate it and it will eventually pop.

My anecdotal experience with calculators is mixed. Cheap four operation calculators may not last a year. Nicer scientific calculators can last a while, but after a while some of the LCD cells get stuck. My TI-83 is still kicking.
