San Diego and Comic Con have signed a long term deal. This was a test to see how Wondercon performed in Anaheim. Moscone and San Francisco's Chamber of Commerce have given Wondercon a very cool reception the last few years and Comic Con International was very keen to see how fans liked the change. They are, after all, referring to this as the 1st Wondercon in Anaheim, not the only.

The loss of Peeta's leg is pointless in the book. He gets a replacement almost immediately. Why even bother with saying he lost it?

Yes, I actually prefer the movie version of the Tracker Jacker as it gives some back story that they skip to allow the movie to jump right in. It's handled very well. Not identical to the book, but in the spirit of the book.

no internal monologue, they do cut back to District 12 and there is some added stuff from other districts as well. One district in particular. The film smartly uses the tracker Jacker scene to its advantage.
