Never assume. It may cost you dearly. by FunkyM0NKin fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]atombomb1945 0 points1 point ago

So very few places actually do this, maybe only small family owned restaurants. Anyplace that is corporate is going to make all staff fend for themselves.

No offence, but she was over worked and the only one there, probably with a bunch of people throwing orders at her and demanding service now.

So, by your explanation, if the food tastes bad then that is no reason to take it out on the wait staff or to not leave a tip. Provided of course that the service was good.

So I was playing around with my new Transformer Pad's camera, and decided to point it at my ceiling fan. This was the result. by ScaryMonsterin Android

was the fan running when you took this picture? If so, that camera must have a really good fire rate.

Awesome Grandfather Clock by loplampin steampunk

[–]atombomb1945 0 points1 point ago

My parents have the same Grandfather Clock. It was a wedding gift for them. Forty years later and it still runs perfectly. Only difference is that the pendulum on there is simple. Same clock face too.

When I was a kid I used to stand and watch the minute hand move and was amazed by it. Of course the real talent was watching the hour hand move.

There is a joke about a Proctologist wanting to be a mechanic and rebuilding an engine through the muffler.

I think that applies here.

Apparently, all printers are the same (X-Post from F7U12, they didnt want it, Ithink it fits here better) by Hoppse88in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]atombomb1945 1 point2 points ago

The best was the guy complaining that the printer was not printing in color. I kept asking him what kind of printer it was and he kept saying "It's the standard HP that you guys sent us."

Turns out that he was printing a color picture on a B&W printer. WHY???

Rubik's Cube Rage by Sandbox_Thrashin fffffffuuuuuuuuuuuu

[–]atombomb1945 23 points24 points ago

Well, according to the official Rubik's Cube site the puzzle is solved once all six sides are the same color. So being that you cannot tell what color is where, your cube is solved on every turn.

But really, what was your mom thinking>

I just got a call from a company, THAT I DON'T WORK FOR ANYMORE!!! by wonderweirdoin talesfromtechsupport

[–]atombomb1945 16 points17 points ago

It probably goes along the context of "The more we pay for something, the better it is." So, spending money for someone out side of the company to do work must be better than using your own resources.

The "My keyboard doesn't work, must be a virus" is so true. I had a ticket for a virus issue on one user's computer. Turns out there was so much makeup and coffee and muffin crumbs in the keyboard that it register half of the key strokes.

I had to remote into a user's PC (xpost from pics) by etm124in talesfromtechsupport

[–]atombomb1945 8 points9 points ago

One company I used to work for used Log Me In, but it was the free version. Well LMI found out about it and told them they would have to pay to use it, as the free version was only for personal use. I swear my boss said that they would sue LMI if they could not get to continue to get the free version.

I didn't work there long, mostly for ethical reasons.

[–]atombomb1945 11 points12 points ago

You did the right thing. I had a friend of mine remote into a computer at his work and found folders of XXX on the computer. He joked about it to the user on the other end of the phone and then fixed the issue. Two weeks later that guy got busted for the pics, and my friend went to HR due to the guy saying that he had seen the pics too. My friend got fired on the spot as soon as he said that he saw the pics but didn't report it.

$150 for consulting is fair, but this is a programming issue. Call them back and state that you are willing to be re-employed by the company for this issue for the amount of $150,000 for a six month period.

[–]atombomb1945 0 points1 point ago

Well, at least you have an Applebee's now.

I was stationed there about ten years ago, and yea it can get a little boring. But you make the best of it. I bought a motorcycle from the Motor-sports there on the corner and learned to ride. Ended up meeting my wife because of the bike. There is the college out by the Walmart, take some classes. The lake is twenty minutes north. If you know what the Double Wide is at the end of town, enough said. Trader Tom's used to have live bands a few nights a week. Find a hobby, volunteer for the area programs, and wait for Christmas and see the lights down at the park.

Places like this will either break you, or you can have fun and make the most of it.
