TROPHY CASE

  • Three-Year Club

I was driving 10-15 mph over the speed limit on the interstate in Missouri, about to pass a semi, when he cut me off. He stayed in front of me for a mile, all the way through a speed trap. Whats the friendliest thing a stranger has done for you on the road? by Nebraska_Actuallyin AskReddit

[–]arjie 0 points1 point ago

Ah, that's true. It isn't something that warrants that risk. I'm all for the method that calls for giving them space to get in, even if they're dicks. Truly can't be bothered getting upset by poor drivers anymore.

Found this in a rental car today. A little surprised someone would carry it with them when they travel by FormiCHin pics

Looks similar to this one so I'd say it's "God, Duty, Honor"

I believe you're right about the secondary stat thing, thanks, but the other guy's explanation for 'stat decay' seems to make more sense in this context, I think.

What is stat decay and what's a secondary stat?

Wikileaks releases what people give them. Until last year or so there were many leaks every day, loads of little things. They don't go hunt out the information. They are a safe method to leak things through.

The theory is usually far from practice. The people zipping past the queue in one lane will wait till they can get no farther, slow down to a near stop (because an obstacle like the barrier makes a neat merge dangerous at normal velocity), and edge in instead of taking the gap provided by another driver a few car lengths behind. If they would do that, the entire row could move at a normal pace. Instead, they introduce this clog at the merge junction.

I always leave a slot and a half open so that I won't have to brake at the merge point, but no one takes it until they reach the very end, at which point they do the whole slow-down-then-carefully-turn-into-the-other-lane dance.

Apparently the Taj Mahal is not the only amazing mausoleum in India...(x-post from r/pics) by pandas795in india

It's funny, but I suppose it's because they get used to it. Take the other post of the Madurai Temple. I found it kind of meh, but that's probably because I'm so used to sights like that having lived in South India for so long.

[Breaking] Google to release 5 Nexus devices on November 5th to celebrate Android’s 5th birthday | TalkAndroid.com by Boynamedstacyin Android

Your optimism is rather infectious, but I suspect it'll be just 5 devices which are phones or tablets, not specifically 5 different types of devices.

If you're a little cautious you can say, "Schedule death of president 8 PM" and pretend you were talking about the movie.

"Discretion", by the way, not "digression".

"Google has always been interested in hardware, the natural next step is for us to get even more serious and to really go for it" says Dennis Woodside, Motorola's new CEO by slinky317in Android

Okay, now comes the real test. If they bring out a bootloader that is not unlockable or is encrypted then we'll know how serious Google is about turning Motorola to the light side.

Didn't see this comment before buying. Got a copy for my brother yesterday and it worked but when we found out it had co-op and he tried to get one today the 'key' section was blank.

An old trick that works on some improperly configured firewalls is to append '?x' to the URL. I haven't needed to try that in more than 10 years, so can't tell if people even use the software that would let that happen.

The well-known fix is roughly the following procedure (from memory, so inexact):

  1. Log in and check the "Remember Password" option (this is the part you have trouble with so consider tethering your phone or something)

  2. Switch to offline mode

  3. If previous step fails, disable all network adapters and try again

He is actually saying the same thing as you are. That's why the '/s' section at the end. He's making fun of the people who insist that all programmers must use *nix.

Jens: And this is why I'm playing with Testificates. by xPawin Minecraft

Or as you give testificates stuff, they value it less and less. Or as you buy more and more stuff, it becomes more expensive. The values slowly return to normal over game time.
