I think wetstones are not actually BIFL, but they are probably what the OP is looking for. They wear down over time, just like any other sharpening system. Others rave about the Spyderco system, which I have, but it is a niche item that I think is more suited for touch ups. A proper set of wetstones + a strop will be able to take any knife from dull to hair popping in one session. AND, they will last for years with proper care.

While I'm not bashing OP's original advice, take that article with a grain of salt. From the guide to speaker placement:

For proper imaging to take place, sound from each speaker must arrive at the listening position at precisely the same moment. This requires that the speakers be exactly the same distance away from the main seating position. We're talking about precision here. Difference of less than ¼" will be audible in better systems to careful listeners.

In my neighborhood I definitely notice a few different types of people. One of them is the highly educated, upwardly mobile black woman. I can imagine they would not be in the mood to coddle a grown assed man while trying to juggle a professional career. I can see why this girl would not get along with your example of a black male. However, I can imagine this type of woman would be able to get along with any emotionally mature and stable male, be he white or black. A lot of the younger black women I see in Brooklyn seem to be less educated, and probably less demanding in a mate. I suspect that the young ones that are focused on education are busy studying somewhere, and are thus out of my perspective.

It seems like your professor's model has to do with a statistic I remember hearing that says that black women are more likely to end up with a good education and a professional career than black men. The model seems to fit this statistic, but I think it is likely an oversimplification based upon a worthless generalization (that being the idea that black men don't like black women.)

I'd call it less of a "Reddit thing" and more of a reality thing. At least in the US, as defined by law.

You are getting the legal definition of rape confused with the kind of violent aggravated rape you see in movies. Consensual sex requires consent. If that consent was obtained under false pretenses, that consent could be considered invalid, thus getting us into rape territory.

No offense, but I'm going to go out on a limb here, and guess that the good Loblaw name must have been inherited.

Why don't you two look up that case where a guy pretended to be a doctor and gave out free breast exams, or the case where someone pretended to have an HIV vaccine and could only administer it via penis. I have a foggy memory of both, but I think the precedent from either of these cases would be very applicable to the current situation.

I've heard that bamboo is sub-optimal as a cutting surface. I think it is too hard. Also, they typically use more glue in the board to keep the bamboo together, which is a also a very hard material. What you want is a softer wood with the grain end as your cutting surface. The bigger the individual pieces of wood, the better, as that minimizes the amount of glue used.
