It's funny, I was living in Wagga Wagga when it flooded last year.
I lived on top of a relatively large hill and after about two days of rain, my internet stopped working & phone line was shit quality.
My friends whole bottom of his house was under water and when he returned his was working fine.

Makes me wonder.

Ahh, I remember a few ISP's in Australia had (maybe still have?) a 10MB attachment limit.

If someone who emailed you a huge file who wasn't one of the ISP's with this problem, your emails would not send / receive.
Solution was of course to log into the ISP's webmail and delete the email from there end or call them.

Must drink... the horror.
