Found this while Geocaching. Maybe a bomb? by Flowtosin WTF

[–]angrydroid 4 points5 points ago

Yup. That's a WW2-era 500 pound bomb. Or the fins at least.

Cool! I'll try to get in on this if I can. Seems like they are doing it on Saturdays? Thanks for letting me know.

Forgotten Hope 1 for BF1942. Basically made this game what it should have been.

Also something to bear in mind is that, during the school year, this city is awash in college kids. They drive up the price of the apartment rental market.

How to install apps not on the Amazon Appstore and general rooting question by 2k_fun_kin kindlefire

I am somewhat certain I've read on xda that HBO Go works on some of the ICS versions running the newest 3.0 kernel.

I'd say it's pretty unlikely.

Kindle Fire 2 with 8.9 inches in December in UK by geekish007in kindle

Ah. I guess I missed that. There's been so much speculation about this subject. Haven't seen Amazon actually chime in on this yet. But thanks anyways.

I don't see anything about a Kindle Fire 2 in there.

My Kindle Fire was stolen, amazon can't do anything. Any help? by nurseAkaliin kindlefire

[–]angrydroid 0 points1 point ago

Amazon should be able to deactivate your account, at the very least, so the thief can't access your Amazon account. But other than that, no, there's no way to track it. Here's a link to some more info.

Just Rooted my Kindle Fire with ICS, had a few questions about some weird behavior. by TurningItIntoASnakein kindlefire

[–]angrydroid 0 points1 point ago

TBH I haven't the foggiest idea what the difference is between these ROMs. I just use it because it seems like the developer updates pretty frequently to whatever the latest kernel updates are and he's very responsive to user requests. Just noticed the most recent (1.35) update I flashed this afternoon reintroduced the redundant Camera icon to the lock screen. No big deal there.

As for factory reset... I've never done that and never had an issue. I just Backup, Flash ROM, Wipe Cache & Dalvik in TWRP 2.0 and all my apps have pretty much remained intact. Never had any problems.

Which ROM did you install? Some of them have overclocked kernels which might be why it is running warmer. As far as I know they are using the same voltage level to overclock so damaging the CPU shouldn't be an issue. As for the USB mounting issue, you this might help. Otherwise I would highly suggest this ROM which is IMO the cleanest/most stable ICS/CM9 build currently.

[Help] Problems with flashing other ROMS on TWRP 2.0.0 by p0wderedtoastmanin kindlefire

[–]angrydroid 0 points1 point ago

Yeah. It always says that message about the E: drive. You can completely ignore it. Same thing for the md5 file, which is a separate file checksum that some ROM authors are kind enough to provide alongside their ROMs. What YayILikePie says is completely correct.

I like this idea, but am not very handy with spreadsheets. I am also pretty certain somebody would spam or destroy the google doc within a few days of us creating it. But I am open to giving it a try if somebody wants to help. I usually look at this list to see what is going on. If it's on there it is generally in-use and reasonably reliable.

Amazon Kindle Ice Next in Line to Kindle Fire, Say Rumors by ensodein kindlefire

Ensode, why do you always have to post these crap links that are over 6 months old and come from sketchy techblog sources? I am going to ask this once and only once. This is hardly the first time. Please vet your sources or I will ban you.

Question about ICS roms by wisewiz11in kindlefire

There is someone working on a launcher called Mahogany which replicates the bookshelf-style launcher of the stock Kindle Fire. But it's far from ready from what I've read.

I just got a Korg Monotron and I'm wondering what I can do with it. Tips, tricks, etc? Please help. by [deleted]in WeAreTheMusicMakers

[–]angrydroid 1 point2 points ago

Yeah. You probably don't really need to modify it at this point unless you have a specific reason to. I need to get me one of these things some day.

Try this perhaps. Also this. But I'd suggest playing around with it as it is for a while before messing with it.

Question about ICS roms by wisewiz11in kindlefire

[–]angrydroid 0 points1 point ago

You'd lose Amazon Prime Video. Basically, the answer is no, but, although I can't say I've tried it, there is a version of the FIREFIREFIRE bootloader that allegedly does dual-booting of ROMs. You might want to look into that, depending on how technical you are.
