The Carl's Jr. spot is a 3 second static camera shot with moving objects the McDonalds spot is a 30 second roaming camera with still objects. Two totally different shots. The only similarity is that there are burgers in the shot.

The food in this specific spot is CG because it needs to be for the camera moves and narrative. The article doesn't say all of "those kind of shots are now CG," just this specific instance.

The bounce is because they don't use use real food. Most of the materials are rubber props.

Likely not CG because it wouldn't be cost-effective in this case. Prop food and a small crew for 6 hours is still cheaper than going to an effects house.

Also if it was CG they would probably try to make the bottom bun look like an actual hamburger bun instead of a prop sponge bun.
