TROPHY CASE

Pathing will take longer because the search space will be bigger. I imagine once you start digging a lot that could start to be less of a problem though.

$220 Million Battleship Flop Sinks Not Only Universal Pictures, But Activision Game by zakislamin Games

[–]alexs 25 points26 points ago

But the board game has literally one piece of back story. One naval brigade fights another equal naval brigade. That's literally the only thing the game is about.

So it should have been a civil war movie or something? That could actually have been kind of interesting actually. That even has some scope to go beyond melodrama and still be an awesome action movie.

(Not quite as good as my alternate reality version of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol where Ethan Hunt has to redeem the good name of the International Monetary Fund from an evil shadowy organisation trying to rekindle the cold war.)

We're at war with the ants, and I play dirty. by Climatein pics

[–]alexs 0 points1 point ago

My solution to ants is to just put a big dish of sugar water/jam/caramel down somewhere hidden and near the ants entrance to my house and let them get on with it. They tend to not bother trapsing everywhere then.

I am getting bored on my longest running fortress ever. Any suggestions? by conrad42in dwarffortress

I have mined out almost the entire z level for the first 3 levels of my fortress.

If you want real EFI rants you should follow mjg59 who regularly seems to brick EFI motherboards while trying to make them boot Linux.

white uniform background, because the transformation is only defined inside the cage, so you don't have a seamless transformation on the edge of the cage. Nothing I can do here, Green Coordinate are like this.

Even on a white background you'll get annoying artifacts where the anti-aliasing on the original mask gets stretched. You need to be able to combine it with a mask that follows the cage to keep the edges neat and content aware fill to fix up the moved pixels on non-solid backgrounds.

Maybe they shouldn't be, but Amazon can't help that,

Yes they can help. They can stop reinforcing people's biases. Sure it'll hurt and people will get offended, but sometimes your symptoms are the worst just as the sickness is leaving you.

Martin Schoeller's amazing and hilarious photos of celebrities by tjsterc17in movies

[–]alexs 14 points15 points ago

So much this. Was kind of vaguely entertaining until I hit the first picture of a woman and then it all became incredibly tired and predictable. It really makes the rest of the photos look worse knowing that this guy has such a dangerously banal view of women.

(which would have nasty results for closed source android apps

Doesn't the classpath exception given when Sun originally GPLd Java negate this problem at the source? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GPL_linking_exception#The_classpath_exception With that Oracle can't threaten to sue Android developers.

In which case it would look scary for people like HTC who heavily customise their Android variants I expect but probably wouldn't effect them negatively at all in reality.

Valve Tries To Charge People Based On How Likable They Are: Trolls Pay Full Price by DrJulianBashirin Games

[–]alexs 0 points1 point ago

This isn't a service for players at al, at least people actually like paying for hats. What does this provide? Less jerks? Bans do that too. Now all we have is rich entitled jerks who you cant ban for being jerks, because they paid for the privilege.

How to remove Rust? [Pics inside] by Mogrixin Fixxit

ACF-50 can get a lot of light rust off of stuff. Can take a while for it to get under the rust and lift it off though.

I think that's negative imaginary frame rates. e.g. -60*sqrt(-1) FPS.

Redditors who are rich (net worth $1 million+) - how did you get rich? by Tzeentch99in AskReddit

[–]alexs 1 point2 points ago

Go to New Zealand or Australia. I'd do it if I only had $30K. They have good cultures, healthy political systems

Australia would be fairly far down my list of developed countries with "healthy political systems."
