Are you content with the way this game has been officiated?

But... but... holy shit Bloom is unreal live. In my opinion it is far and away the best song to open a concert with. I guess that reveals the beauty of music though, everybody hears it differently.

Summer camp. Not seeing her during the year probably helped me suppress that awful memory... until now.

I also lost because she got in the way.

Based on the one time I was on a swing and in a competition to see who could kick their sandals off the farthest and mine went straight into the head of an 11 year old girl who had just gone through chemotherapy and knocked her wig off so she picked it up and ran off crying... I will also confirm.

Damn JVG is on FIRE in this clip. I love to hear him when he's rolling on a rant like that. One of the most refreshing announcers out there, in any sport.

Today, I sang a duet through my kitchen window with a stranger in the adjacent building singing through his bathroom window. Have you ever formed an unexpected bond with a totally random person? by mixigsin AskReddit

I was walking through my dorm hallway singing a Pink Floyd song. "IIIII've got a mouse, and he hasn't got a house I don't know why I call him Gerald." When suddenly, a man behind a closed door belts, "He's getting rather ooold but he's a good mouse."

I just cracked up uncontrollably and went on my way.

Dominant big man? Or star point guard? by Pippenainteasyin nba

[–]abcunnin 2 points3 points ago

Or maybe the only reason we don't put any recent PGs on the same level as Kobe, Jordan, Shaq, and Duncan is because they don't have the championships to back up their great stats. Guys like Steve Nash, Jason Kidd, and Gary Payton were historically great PGs, but so often we measure elite players by their rings.

But I agree that this sample is too small, yet it is still indicative of a trend.

Dominant big man? Or star point guard? by Pippenainteasyin nba

Interestingly, in the last 20 years ('90-'91 through '10-'11) only 2 finals MVPs have been point guards. They were Chauncey Billups in '04 and Tony Parker in '07. Other than those two, the winners have been Michael Jordan (x6), Hakeem Olajuwon (x2), Tim Duncan (x3), Shaq (x3), Dwyane Wade, Paul Pierce, Kobe Bryant (x2), and Dirk Nowitzki.

A notable trend here is that the majority of finals MVPs have not been point guards. Moreover, the non-point guard MVPs were, for the most part, widely considered the best at their position. However, Parker and Billups were not. My conclusion here is that it is more important to have the best SG, SF, PF, or C in the league than it is to have the best point guard.

An idea to more accurately count assists. by abcunninin nba

[–]abcunnin[S] 19 points20 points ago

Your first point is definitely true. This likely would not make a difference in the relative assist levels of point guards. I just think that the guards should be getting credit for the points that they assist on. I guess the thing that got me thinking about this was when analysts say something like "Chris Paul had 30 points and 10 assists, so he was responsible for at least 50 points tonight." One could more accurately measure the guard's contribution to the game if assists were given for made free throws as well.

And as far as your second point, I think you could say the same thing about shooting percentage as well. A player with better shooters around him will naturally get more assists than the previous year when he was on a team full of lousy shooters. Assists don't perfectly measure a guard's passing ability, but I believe they should accurately measure one's contribution to the point total.

I can't wait for the Blake Griffin - Zach Randolph fight. Although it will probably just be Randolph swinging, missing, and Griffin jumping back into the 7th row crying that he got concussed.

This crowd is putting the rest of the NBA's fan base to shame! It's reminiscent of the Warriors playoff games a few years ago. This is going to be an awesome series.
