First NIN song you guys fell in love with? by xxScythxxin nin

It was Wish for me. When PHM came out I was just a metal head and wouldn't listen to anything unless it was "strictly metal", but by the time Broken came out I was beginning to expand my horizons just a little bit. Hearing Wish (which is metal-ish in its aggressiveness) hooked me and got me to listen to Broken obsessively, which then led to me getting PHM. By the time TDS was released, NIN was easily one of my favorite bands, and TDS really cemented them as my favorite band ever since.

In reading that article it doesn't sound like he's even finished the screenplay yet, so no. I have a bunch of friends who are screenwriters and can tell you that even if you get paid to crank out an original script there's still a hell of a long way to go, and it's still a long shot, that the script will ever get made into a movie. He could just go back and forth with the studio re-writing it over and over and then have them eventually decide not to make it, or it could get the attention of a big name actor or director or something who can then put some clout behind the project and then it will probably get made. We're gonna have to wait a while to see what happens.

Next time you're out there check to see if there's a rock made of black volcanic glass in those rocks. If so dig underneath it and see if there's some money and a note from Andy Dufresne down there.

Adding Rondo would be a plus if that's all the Lakers did. Adding him while subtracting Pau though, IMO, is a net minus for the Lakers. Rondo doesn't bring as much to the table as removing Pau takes off it. JMO though.

If Dwight Howard doesn't get traded then it's possible New Jersey might make a desperation trade of Deron Williams for Pau right before the deadline, just to make sure they don't lose D-Will for nothing this summer (he's said he's just gonna play out this year and then evaluate things this summer, which basically means he's gonna leave unless the Nets can bring in Dwight).

The other trade I've heard mentioned a little bit is Lowry and Scola for Pau, though I'm dubious that the Rockets would really want to do that deal. But if there's any validity to it, I'd love for the Lakers to make that swap.

If the Lakers give up Pau for Rondo and Jermaine O'Neal, who would be the PF? JO is really a center, and he's been way past his prime for the last few seasons at least. So that leaves Troy Murphy and Josh McRoberts, and I don't think that's gonna be enough. I'd really rather the Lakers tried to get Scola and Lowry from Houston, even that's even a possibility (which it very well may not be). Rondo is a very solid player, but in this particular trade it won't get the Lakers anywhere closer to winning anything this year.

Oh I definitely think it's time for Kobe to ease up on controlling the ball so much, but the question is does Kobe think that it's time for him to do that? My guess is no, he still thinks it's his ball, and that's where there would be a problem. I just can't see Kobe deciding to now begin playing mostly off the ball out on the perimeter, waiting for Rondo to initiate the offense or for Bynum to kick it out on the double team.

Rondo is a great player, but the guy has a major hole in his game being that he's a point guard who can't shoot. If the Lakers aren't on the fast break and he's just got the ball at the top of the key, it would be too easy for his defender to slough off of him and do quick doubles to either Kobe or Bynum and just dare Rondo to shoot it. I'd much rather the Lakers made a play for a point guard who can shoot the ball, and feel like they should be able to get more than Rondo (who the Celtics have been shopping everywhere for a while now) if they're gonna give up Pau.

IMO I think Rondo is a really poor fit for the Lakers, simply because to be really effective he needs to have the ball in his hands and be running the offense, and with Kobe on the team I don't see that happening too much. When Rondo doesn't have the ball in his hands, he's effectively worthless on offense, since he can't shoot. He'd be good on defense though.

There is no question the Lakers need to get a solid point guard, but getting Rondo would effectively leave a gaping hole at the PF spot (Jermaine O'Neal isn't gonna cut it), while giving LA yet another guy who isn't an offensive threat. This is why when the Lakers play the Celtics Kobe "guards" Rondo by essentially giving him a huge amount of space and just roams all over the place defensively: cause he's not a threat offensively, unless he's driving to the hole with the ball in his hands or is on a fast break.

To answer the OP's question, I think all of those trades ESPN is proposing are awful for the Lakers.

The Star Wars Saga: Suggested Viewing Order by mikeyilin geek

[–]WildYams 6 points7 points ago

OK, IMO every single one of the prequels is just awful, but I think people get wrong the order in which they are awful. Episode I totally blows, mainly cause of Jar Jar, but I actually contend it's the "best" of the 3 prequels.

This is just because Episode II is incredibly boring and Episode III is hands down the most dull of the three. Oddly enough Episode III seemed OK to watch that first time, but trying to watch it a second time was just pure torture. I couldn't do it. And Episode II... well, nothing happens until like the very end of the movie. We have Obi Wan flying around talking to various CGI creatures while Anakin and Padme roll around in the grass. For like two fucking hours! Then there's a totally disinteresting fight at the end and that's it.

People made it out like Episode III was actually "good" and I'm telling you, that's just plain wrong. Go watch it again. Watch Obi Wan riding that dumb lizard while he's following General Grievous. Watch the dumb scene on the Wookie planet. Watch Hayden Christensen pout and mope. Fucking. Dull.

Episode I is just hated on so much for three reasons: 1) As I said above, the movie blows. But that's true of any of the prequels! I mean, none of them are any good whatsoever. 2) Jar Jar. Probably the most annoying character in the films, except he's a throwaway character you don't care about anyway, so that's arguably better than finding out Darth Vader is a whiny bitch and then seeing him mope around for the next two movies. 3) The movie was the biggest disappointment in film history. The expectations could not have been higher after the original trilogy, and Episode I couldn't have missed the mark by any more than it did. But it sufficiently lowered the expectations for the next two movies so that people were ready to be disappointed with Episodes II and III.

All three prequels completely stunk. Jar Jar, flying Yoda, Anakin's whining, etc, etc, etc. But at least the first movie had an almost interesting scene with the pod racing (almost, but not quite), and at least the first movie had Liam Neeson. Let's be honest, Liam Neeson was probably the most interesting character in any of the prequels, even though he still wasn't really that interesting. Well, he was the most interesting character except for the real reason to see Episode I: Darth Maul. Darth Maul's screen time is the only stuff worth watching in any of the prequels (even if it's only about 10 total minutes worth). Nothing in the next two movies was anywhere near as interesting as Darth Maul.

So there you go. While utterly awful, I contend that Episode I is actually the best least worst of the prequels.

You were actually dating a guy and he just didn't show up and didn't call when you guys had a date planned? That's incredibly fucked up. It's fucked up to do to someone when it's like a first date and you don't know each other, but it's way more fucked up to do to someone you've been dating. I'm sorry he did that :(

BTW, I'm curious, I notice your nipples are pierced in one of your pics but not in any of the others. Did you recently pierce them, or did they used to be pierced but you then removed the piercings?

I don't see VA as Guy Fawkes, but more like Larry Flynt, what with all the legal troubles he went through over his porn empire but ultimately in the name of free speech. I'll never understand why for so many people if they see someone (or a group of people) doing something which is legal but that they don't like or approve of, they don't just ignore it and go on to something else. We're all different and all enjoy and appreciate different things. If someone isn't breaking the law with what they enjoy and appreciate, who are you or me or anyone else to tell them it's wrong?
