I was washing up just in boxers and stuck my hand all the way into a large drinking glass. The glass already had a chip (I was unaware at the time) and shattered with my hand inside.

I thought "Woah, that could have been bad!", then looked at the shattered glass and noticed a chunk of skin (about 1cm²⁾ resting in a mound of broken glass and bubbles.

I then very calmly walked all around the house trying to find some clothes to put on, leading to blood stains on every carpet.

I got the piece of skin and pressed it against the open wound, then wrapped a towel around it hard and went to A&E.

When I finally saw a nurse, she said that the skin will probably die, but she'll put it back on the wound after she cleaned it.

She put my skin back on backward...

I said "You've put my skin on backwards", she disagreed. Then I said the ridiculous line "I literally know it like the back of my hand".

Unfortunately the skin died and I was left with a scar. Luckily no tendant damage.
