Does the Hulk minifig come with anything other than the figure. Seems like a pretty big poly bag for just a minifig.

That is an awesome name.

How To Make Vietnamese Coffee [2:47] (re-post from r/videos) by library_of_babelin Coffee

[–]ViaConNada 1 point2 points ago

Completely different. These little guys have no real filter. There are a bunch of small holes punched in the bottom of the coffee maker. The holes are larger and much fewer than any filter I've ever seen. There is also a piece you screw down over the grounds so they don't float up. It takes several minutes for the water to drip through creating a very strong brew.

Its a unique coffee. I recommend iced, its like sweet caffeinated crack.

What book are you most upset that people haven't read? by EwokShepherdin books

[–]ViaConNada 5 points6 points ago

I read the first two and did not enjoy them. If I don't care about a character after nearly 700 pages I'm not going to waste my time continuing to read them. I don't think they are bad, I just don't care for them.

I also tried watching the movies to get into the series and felt exactly the same way. I gave them a fair shot and they are not for me.

Does anyone else think that Alan Moore is overrated? by neotheismin comicbooks

[–]ViaConNada 1 point2 points ago

I don't think he is the greatest writer ever but he, at least at one time, was excellent at weaving in symbolism and allusions to literature without being too dense. He was also capable of layering social commentary on top of this without it collapsing into an unreadable mess and still be accessible.

On the other hand the guy is most likely a misogynist, bat shit insane and thinks way too highly of himself.

Levels of waste in the USA reach a new high... by I_am_not_angryin funny

[–]ViaConNada 1 point2 points ago

When I went to Japan they had tons of elaborately wrapped candies and treats. Individually wrapped, in a plastic tray, in a box, wrapped in cellophane, in a cardboard sleeve with ribbon wrapped around it. Very pretty but tons of waste. This was about 10 years ago.

I think the Kree are rolled into the Fantastic Four property which is licensed to Fox so that probably won't happen.

I like this. They would need to tweak her origin a bit to omit Captain Marvel and the Kree.

Change Kree to Chitauri and Captain Marvel to.....?

I would like to see the head from the series 5 dwarf in the bunny suit. Maybe have him hold the lumberjacks ax....I'm not sure why this idea humors me so much.

I thought Clarke's space elevator didn't show up until 3001. Well the epilogue of 2061 which talks about the year 3001. Could be wrong though haven't read those in years.

They were rolling down a hill in an old truck tire and having the time of their lives. After Timmy's turn was up he didn't get out of the tire, he just lay there limp and lifeless. They tried to revive him but he wouldn't wake up, his neck had snapped. In a panic their 9 year old minds thought they would go to prison for Timmy's death. That's when they decided to put him in the old refrigerator and push it in Old Quarry Lake. They said they hadn't seen Timmy all day, and the search team never found him. Tied together forever from this terrible secret they sought to dull their guilt and pain in a never ending parade of drugs and booze.

Did anyone else notice this in The Wind Through the Keyhole.... by Savage9645in TheDarkTower

Eddie mentions in The Wastelands that the name Shardik seems familiar to him and he associates it with rabbits. This is because Richard Adams, the author of Sharidk, is best know for his novel Watership Down which is about rabbits.

In TWttKH the Eagle is named Garuda after the eagle of Hindu and Buddhist mythology.

The swamp dwellers Tim encounters are similar in description to DC comic's Swamp Thing.

Daria is the mid-world version of an iPhone with SIRI.

I think he did it to ease us into seeing other references to fictional characters/items in Wolves (Sneetches, Dr. Doom Wolf Robots, light sabers etc..) It makes it less jarring.

Sony used its proprietary Blu-Ray technology for the PlayStation 3 in 2006, though it had already gained some market acceptance a few years earlier as a HD video format.

Blu-Ray is as proprietary as DVD or CD. And its not solely a Sony technology (Sony, Panasonic, Pioneer, Philips, Thomson, LG, Hitachi, Sharp, and Samsung all worked on the format). It's also not a "HD Format", its a storage medium.
