goalie pads are smaller than in the recent past and tied to the goalies actual size. Its far more accurate to say that goal tending is not longer a "read and react" method. Its highly technical with systems that allow even the average goalie to be in a good position to make a save.

I started playing goal at 28, Im 42 now and still love it. (Just played on Monday) There are plenty of places to get gear and weekend schools/camps to pick up knowledge.

Just saw the Flyers announced he was out with an upper body contusion which sucks, but the hit itself was still clean. Kinda like when Vorachek got Kronwalled earlier this season. Clean but regrettable.

If you disagree I don't think anything I say is gonna change your mind. Yup the hit was legal, the timing was bullshit, that hit had nothing to do with the play and or score of the game. Bylsma put those guys out there to retaliate for the hit on Crosby. Was Laviolette right to be pissed? Meh probably not but I do think its hilarious that you think a guy who played professional hockey for 12 years is a "pussy".

what was concussive about it? I haven't ready anywhere that Danny was hurt by it and it was 100% clean. Other than the timing of it there was nothing wrong with that hit at all. Bylsma wanted to send a message and he did. I'm sure the Flyers heard it loud and clear and will respond in kind.

Ok, so I'll say it. I didn't have a real problem with the hit on Briere. It was clearly in retaliation for the hit on Crosby. Fine, if the roles were reversed I would expect the Flyers to do the same thing, hit one of ours, we hit one of yours. It was clean and a hockey play. I loved Lavi getting pissed and having his players back as well as everyone pairing off. Just saying the actual hit was not that bad.

Regarding this moment I overheard this while watching a different game tonight " Having your assistant stand between you and the other coach is like having your wife fight for you in a bar while you hold her purse." I like Bylsma and all, but that was hilarious. That and Harts fucking with the white-trash hulk hogan.

Yeah, it was bad. They were lolygagging all over the ice, not hitting anyone, not covering anyone. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, but it was ugly.

I'm confused. He won the game, right? He had a +.930 Save % turning away 29 of 31 shots, right? Neither of the goals that went in were bullshit beachball goals, were they? Why the "at least"? Seems to me he had a damn good night and we got 2 big points. EDIT:for getting the numbers correct.

For what it is worth. After reading the rule I think this hit falls under "Illegal but not dirty". I sure as hell don't like it as Jake is one of my favorite players right now but Vorachek clearly looks up and sees him, Kronwall never leaves his skates (as he so often does) and his elbows never come up. Hell, he never really even accelerates or really leans into the hit. He just plants and allows momentum to do the rest. I can see a fine coming as the head was the primary point of contact but will be really surprised if there is a suspension.
