Actually, that parallax barrier doesn't affect the screen that much when it's off. The screen is excellent to begin with, so even with the slight degradation, compared with most other phones it's very sharp.

Because the 12Mbps downloads they are talking about are on their 4G network, and the data caps are for their 3G network. There's more likely to be an unlimited plan available for 4G.

I'm not sure why people are all of a sudden freaking out over the little warnings Google shows for Chrome addons. Firefox addons can do much more, and they can access anything on your computer. They never had anything warning you of this, but people still installed them.
