Dear Reddit, what was your first drunken experience?

After I turned 21 I was left home alone while all my housemates returned home for a holiday. I wanted to 'academically' experiment with alcohol in order to see if I'd be a happy drunk, sad drunk, know my limits etc. I bought some Mike's Hard Lemonade and sat watching Tropic Thunder and drinking and measuring my tolerance and observing the effects. It turned out I was an extreme lightweight and threw up after like 2 lemonades over the 2 hour movie.

I don't remember the end of Tropic Thunder because I either blacked out or just threw up and was too tired and wanted to sleep or something. It was pretty stupid to do this alone.

I don't have a particular favorite hero in DotA. In HoN I really liked Pandamonium but there is no DotA equivalent.

I guess I like Storm Spirit for now. He's always fun to play and tp support your team :)

As of now, I don't think his solution is right either. It seems FAR from reasonable. However, we haven't heard Amon's reasons (just a bit of his origin story) so I won't be taking sides in any official capacity...I'll just root for Korra because she's awesome.

A form of Bender oppression that you may have missed is the police force. Are only earth benders (and metal benders on top of that) able to become policemen? Isn't that discriminatory? They may have to take an oath to serve and protect but taking an oath doesn't always mean they will uphold it. That kind of exclusivity can be seen as 'oppressive' by some people.

Bugs: Broodmother, SandKing, Weaver, ??

Knights: Dragon Knight, OmniKnight, Chaos Knight, ??

Riders: PotM, Bat Rider, Chen, Alchemist, Enchantress (haha)

Trolls: Warlord, Batrider, Huskar, Dazzle, Witch Doc

You have to be very careful with HIV. It's a retrovirus meaning that it writes itself into your genes. Of course this only happens with some of your cells, but it stays with you forever. If you aren't careful about this shit with over-the-top protective measures, the alternative is you fuck up many more people's lives.

It's a shit deal on both sides but you can't muck about with HIV.

With last hitting, the result is binary. You either get the last hit and gold or you don't. Keep trying different things until you see that gold pop up.

Eventually you'll get the timing down for different heroes' animations etc. By then you should have probably played enough games to get a sense of lane dynamics. If they have a ranged harassing hero or a hero with a stun that can punish you then you'll probably want to be conservative about how much time you spend up near the creeps.

I'm making it more complicated than it actually is. Here's the bottom line: Hit creeps with low life so that you get gold. Repeat

My friend opened a pack during a draft without the rare. Nothing was missing but the rare. It was a DKA pack (first pack of a DII draft). It was from a box with normal boosters and we were all drafting this at a friends house (so there was no reason for him to cheat because we all knew each other and it was just for fun).

Alara, imho, was full of flavor and story and had the whole color pie thing done really well.

Maybe I'm a bit of a minority but I actually like HoN.

It's a fun game and the gameplay feels very 'crisp' to me. There was a bit of criticism floating around that DotA2 felt like playing 'underwater' because of a delay or some such thing. I definitely felt it and it was quite annoying to deal with. HoN (at that point in time) was more polished and I felt that I could DO things like crisp split second actions and commands whereas in DotA I had to anticipate ahead to what I wanted to do in the near future before being able to see my character execute it.

However, I still continued to play DotA2 and got used to that 'delay' and I could play at a fair level. Things like crisp timely enigma black holes were still a little out of my reach though.

Then I stopped playing DotA2 and HoN for about 3 weeks while I prepared and took my finals.

When I came back there was an update where I could lower my settings and it felt like that 'underwater delay' was gone, or at least lessened. From there I haven't really gone back to HoN, but I still like both games. I really miss the exclusive heroes from both genre's. Pandamonium in HoN is great fun but Huskar is fun fun fun too.
