Great Day for a Picnic by freeaccountin WTF

[–]ThemJeans -4 points-3 points ago

If the inability to produce enough milk were as prolific as people claim it is, the human race would not have survived. It's an excuse. Breastfeeding is a biological imperative, and should be as much of a "choice" as menstruation is (ie. it's not a "choice").

Wow, you are just so outright false it's unbelievable. I'd love to see your sources. I'm studying to be a lactation consultant and I've never, EVER, heard of a baby unable to digest their mother's milk. There's just no way that it is even possible for formula to be more easily digested than mother's milk. Read: physiologically impossible. Breastmilk is the most easily digested substance in existence for babies. Forget "very slim chance"... you are just absolutely full of shit.

Boyfriend and I got yelled at for holding hands near a park with children. Should children be shielded from homosexual behavior? by dis_connectingin AskReddit

[–]ThemJeans 0 points1 point ago

I'd much rather my kids see a homosexual couple holding hands than the heterosexual teenage couples we usually see MAKING OUT AT THE PLAYGROUND. Now THAT is despicable.

She didn't google it. She doesn't use google. Her friend did. Also, internet searches for sex isn't exactly like consulting the encyclopedia or school nurse, I don't know if you've noticed...

Thank you. This girl lives down the street and has stayed overnight at our house. The kids in this neighbor seem worlds apart from my daughter in terms of how they act, how they talk, and what they've been exposed to. This neighborhood is full of children and I can't shelter her. It's really going to suck to have to keep her away from half the local population of children. >_<

Yeah, I don't want that to happen. When you become a parent of a child on the cusp of puberty I think you'll understand why your parents flipped their shit. >_< It's hard not to.

I had a "friend" tell me all about sex (the man pees in the woman, etc) in preschool. I know she's never had those sort of unfortunate exposures up until now.

I don't mind the topic of sex so much. It's the way it was introduced to her that gets to me, and the fact that her friend was all gung ho about looking this kind of stuff up online whereas my daughter only uses the computer for games and this kind of shit would never even cross her mind.

Thanks. I already flipped out on her about it but I'll see if backtracking to a rational style conversation works.

I wanted to be the one to introduce her to the topic, and certainly from a different perspective than the one internet pornography provides.

We don't have cable. She watches a movie or two on Netflix now or then. That's it.

Well, maybe we're wrong but we try to impression upon her that the ship goes down with it's captain as far as friends are concerned. If they're doing something wrong, and she knows it's wrong, she's supposed to tell me and not partake. She didn't tell me and fully allowed it to happen, in our home and on our computer. I think denying her computer privileges and keeping her away from this girl is reasonable.

Yay, congrats! I started at about the same as you, and am at midpoint now. 135 is a bit above my goal, but you look so dang good that I am optimistic I might be at goal around 135, too!

I've lost 20lb by diet alone, but am stuck at a major plateau for the past two weeks. I can't lose my last 20 without adding exercise, I fear. Good luck!

Never knew that 'USA style' popcorn was coveted. I refuse to pay the $8 for a bucket of it... even when I was an out of control eater. :P

Grats! I recently had to watch my coworkers scarf down an all you can eat pizza buffet. I avoided the pizza and the control felt so damn amazing. It was muy delicioso.

I haven't checked in for a while. I weigh 145 now. I can't remember how much of a loss that is since last weigh in. 4 pounds maybe? All in all, it's exhilarating.
