The oatmeal responds to Forbes. by defrndrin TrueReddit

Ah, I did not realize the Forbes response (itself rather half-assed) was posted here prior.

You don't think that The Oatmeal also came off as smug? The Oatmeal was trying to be all factsy and information-y in his original post, which could hardly be called humor. Regardless, my point stands that this is hardly the sort of interesting article typically found in TrueReddit.

This hardly belongs in True Reddit. The Oatmeal's response is pedantic and trite, as is the whole back and forth.

What is your "never again" brand, item, store, or restaurant ? by radbrad7in AskReddit

Yeah, I almost put experience in quotation marks. A lot of lame yoga moms shopping there for snob appeal.

Yep, it's a very common misconception. Many of the suppliers are the same at the flagship Austin Whole Foods as they are at the local supermarket. You just pay $$$ more per pound for the shopping experience.

Not only is your post misinformed, but you clearly miss that OP bought conventional aka non-organic produce at whole foods.

There is anti-woman stuff in "Paul's writings" (note that he didn't write all of the books attributed to him) as well.

The TV is so high up that you'd have to crane your neck back to see the screen. Ergonomics nightmare.

Why Nikola Tesla was the greatest geek who ever lived (The Oatmeal) by Trayfin geek

Never mind that the tower itself was a vestige of Tesla's insanity. There is no remote indication it would even work, given how massively inefficient wireless transfer of electricity is.

No, not really. The machine simply produced vibrations. Ever felt a subwoofer from a hundred yards away? Ever seen it rattling things on your shelves? There is a difference between that and an earthquake.

No kidding. The "wireless tower that could provide free power to the planet" is nothing short of bullshit exaggeration. There is no indication that the thing would have worked.

This cuts to the hart of the matter, this article claims that the underwear bomber was working for the FBI (cbsnews with AP citation.) If true, all this TSA scanners etc. has been based on a lie. x-post from r/libertarian by landloverin OperationGrabAss

His being a double agent is to our benefit. The bomb is/was real, as is the maker. It's a great thing that this guy was on the Saudi payroll and was able to provide intel on the fabricators/planners. Asri also made the last underwear bomb - which was worn by someone who was not a double agent. You are fundamentally misinterpreting this through your conspiracy filters.

Valve confirms Steam and Source for Linux, signals low confidence for Windows 8 by DrJulianBashirin technology

[–]TheBowerbird 0 points1 point ago

Doesn't mean you weren't evangelizing! Also, experiences with Windows 8 are decidedly subjective and not universally negative. A lot of the hate for Metro is that it is different, and forces the user to depart from the familiar.

I predicted that this would turn into a Mac evangelism post after the first paragraph. Sure enough...
