Me, the first time I saw the Up in the Dark video: "Ohhhhhhh."

Newman and Bejar's ability to craft obtuse meaning into subtle poetry is absolutely amazing.

EDIT -- Seeing as meaning from the chaos is sort of HIMYM's central theme, I guess it makes sense that a band with that same central theme fits a lot. Crash Year's umbrella centric video also reminded me of HIMYM heavily.

Yes.

I hold out hope because (not on is it the PERFECT mother reveal song), but the creators are definitely aware of the band, and have used a song written by the leader before (A.C. Newman - Prophets)

I've been crossing my fingers for this song to be the Mother revealer since forever.

Have a re-cut shortened version that shows flashbacks to every little cog falling into place during the cello riffs @ 4:20 on, then reveal her on the chorus. Fade to black. Perfect episode ender.

Could have the slow intro earlier in the episode as they like doing.
