Hextall got suspended twice for his actions during the playoffs (Slashing Nielsson and mugging Chelios) but wasn't suspended until after they were eliminated. Though in the Chelios incident they were eliminated that game.

That's the art of Kronwall though. His strides show the winger he's backing off but instead he turns right in the winger breakig out. The video is a great example, one of the replays show how well Kronwall disguises his intention at ice level.

It's not the playoffs really. He was in the bottom 10% for sv and gaa in the league up until March when he went on a tear. He's been a bit more consistent since then for sure but really I think we all probably had unrealistic expectations. Especially considering how weak our team defense was all year.

We got Boosh and Bob to .920 sv% the previous year, it clearly wasn't all on Bryz.

The bright side is, we have a team full of kids and we got this far. Give this team a couple years to learn how to play team defense and we'll continue to be a contender. We ran into a wall of experienced and motivated players backed by one of the top goaltenders in history. Even if Marty is aging and fat, he's still a fantastic goalie.

Just to butt in here a bit, this subreddit has absolutely exploded over the course of this season. I think it was somewhere around 1,300 at the start of the season and now we're the 4th largest hockey subreddit behind Vancouver, Toronto and Detroit at 2,200+ subs. I'm happy people have found this place enjoyable to post and participate.

Just as a caveat, this is dependent on your weight (assuming a sports surface). I'm a larger dude (6'4", upwards of 190) so I mix 76A and 78A and that seems to work the best for me. Someone like me on 74's would be a disaster.

I really don't like the idea that cap space should be a major factor in this award. There's an argument for it being considered for GM of the year but the coach works with what he's given regardless of cap usage.
