Same thing happened to me but at a hockey game. I met my friend there who had been temporarily accepted into the "cool" crowd. They didn't want me to hang out with them too so thy started to mock me and belittle me until I left. My friend wanted to be a part of that group so bad that he just stood there while it happened. Had to call my parents to come get me. One of the most humiliating things to ever happen to me. I owe a good chunk of my overall bitterness to that one experience.
