In nearly all countries, but especially in North America, "white" isn't homogenous.

Least and Most Religious Counties in the U.S. by LettersFromTheSkyin religion

[–]Sequiter 4 points5 points ago

Keep in mind this is just people "claimed by participating religious groups." This overestimates, say, church attendance while underestimating those who are religious but unaffiliated.

Dutch Mountain House, with Car Shelving [714x953] by Mind_Virusin RoomPorn

[–]Sequiter 0 points1 point ago

I won't doubt these Dutchmen's ability to safely stand a car on its bumper, but I can tell you I'd be in a constant state of anxiety anywhere near that thing.

What is something that society finds repulsive/taboo/etc. that you see no problem with? (Possibly NSFW) by ruckus666in AskReddit

Necrophilia. I couldn't care less if my body is used for sex, food, or put into a box in the ground.

Craft beer bubble has not burst (Washington Post) by larsgain beer

How could supply outpace demand at a level high enough to create an economic bubble? Unless there's speculation and investment, supply and demand should continuously level out, right?

The aftermath of my friend's bike and the car that hit him. by impulsinatorin bicycling

[–]Sequiter 204 points205 points ago

Let this be a lesson to us all: even if you have the right of way, navigate every intersection with the assumption that a car will pull out and hit you. Always ride with the ability to spot and respond to any potential collision. Assume a car in every blind spot.

Beat of luck with your friend's recovery.

If English was good enough for the lord Jesus Christ, it's good enough for me.

I regret living in the midwest more with every ride. 35 miles yesterday with 84 feet elevation change. I miss mountains. by newtolouin bicycling

Iowa is all rolling hills, despite the mischaracterization of the entire Midwest as a big pancake.

Somewhere in a little town in Belgium... by EGKWin videos

[–]Sequiter 0 points1 point ago

I must not have the same visceral reaction to bikers as the Belgians, because I totally would have sat down without a second though.

ELI5: Why do British people sound American when they sing? by Evan1701in explainlikeimfive

[–]Sequiter 3 points4 points ago

I agree completely. The modern country accent is a gross caricature of real accents. It's such a shame; early county was fantastic.

I often wonder why others don't seem to mind it.

What would your biggest regret be if this were the last day of your life? (Leiter Report) by critropolitanin philosophy

[–]Sequiter 2 points3 points ago

My grandpa is a conservative methodist minister whose health is currently declining. I am a 26 year-old former Christian who majored in religious studies. I identify with Buddhism, and I believe theism is harmful.

I was never honest with him on my religious beliefs. That is my biggest regret.
