Any of the Serious Sam Games. The stories are a joke, but the whole "There are a shitton of enemies right besides that corner" campaign really got my heart pounding the whole time. Heck the first two "HD" ports are 7.50 together on Steam, and the new 3rd installment is just 10 bucks on Amazon! Good 'ol shooting.

If shooting tons of enemies ain't yur thing... here is another option:

Another really AWESOME old school shooter with a great premise/atmosphere is "Return of Castle Wolfentstien". The game starts out with you being captured by nazi's eventually escaping through catacombs killing nazi mummies and and doing epic joint espionages with the US and Britain. the cool thing is that while it is a VERY fast paced shooter, you feel that you'd rather play it stealthy for enemies can be much stronger than you (you die with a few hits) and they can sound alarms bringing in a surge of enemies. Some levels (like the forest ones) really require you to think which paths you have to take in order not to be caught, ultimately infiltrating the Nazi camp. Another thrilling shooter and also very cheap.

Well, think of it more as a L4D with robbing banks, freeing prisoners, and raiding places to get cash. It's really high octane and the music really gives the game tense atmosphere. If you ever wanted to reenact any type of heist movie (heat for example) this is right up your alley However, the game seems to have a lack of players which means sometimes you are stuck with dumb A.I. on SP, and The graphics are nothing fancy (but it does the game justice). The guns do feel a but flimsy at times too. Overall I think for 4.99 it's totally worth a shot and you're going to have ALOT of fun. I did, and I payed 19.99 when it came out.

From what I'm seeing, it's some-kind of rhythm game where you fiddle around with a real basketball in front of your TV. I think the wii-mote finally has some serious competition of breaking expensive HD TVs.

Yes Yes Yes. It'll seem as if the game is going end early but then a sudden twist just extends the game for hours on end. The new weapons can really change your play style like a shotgun and a spear just to name a few. It might get stale as it approaches the end, but overall it's worth 10 dollars. No doubt.

My friend told me about this website before I was going to purchase Metro 2033 another graphics heavy pc game last year. I got depressed as soon as I saw I didn't even meet the minimum requirements. That small bar of red is always depressing to look at. So the ignorant person I am, I purchased the game anyway only to have it run like it was on a toaster on my rig. From that point on I limited myself to purchase 90's pc games from GOG.com. However when those tempting steam sales come it to lure me with it's lusty prices I waste my money on games I can't play and keep reminding myself that they're an investment for the future. TL;DR: my computer sucks and I'm a generation behind most gamers. Fallout tactics anyone?

Arma was more of simulator and the story honestly was nutin special, redriver was also a mundane: take these ambiguous bad guys that are bad, medal of honor tried to emulate the afghan war but failed to, world at war is set in WW2 so it doesn't really apply, AND homefront was the only one that tried to become a standout trying to convey the emotions of a suppressed America by N.K. however it once again failed to deliver and turned into a mediocre shooter by SP standards.

I hope this doesn't have problems like prey 2 at the moment. I know Bethesda is only the publisher but it's really sad seeing one of my favorite dev/publishers canning really good looking games and publishing disappointing ones like WET.

that hollywood sign multiplayer map looked really interesting. I've played payday the hiest before, and it's satisfied my bank robbing fantasies. But it would be interesting of how they execute playing as a cop. Guess I'll just have to see how this one shapes up to be. It looks pretty decent so far through concept art and animation.

If you have the original HL on Steam go get, CRY OF FEAR (a goldsrc mod). It's dark, moody, scary, disgusting, tense, and just outright piss your pants scary. Honestly still a useless comparison. MW3 and BF3 both have shoddy SP campaigns that are very similar story wise. Honestly, has there been any modern military shooter that has original story instead of a international bad guy that needs to be taken down? Didn't think so. So while this is humorous depiction of the two game's stories It's kinda pointless. It's also gonna piss off a bunch of fan boys. Just sayin.
