I dunno, 2011 was a pretty awesome llama fest as well! I was amazed at how calm they all were even in the crowds of people.

I just made each "bone" and individual piece, then when I was putting it all together at the end I looped some yarn through where each joint meets, which you can see it clearly in the right knee. The trick is to think about which direction you want it to move in and then fasten the pieces together with that movement in mind. The girl who ordered the doll told me she wanted the bones to have movement somehow, and I just made it up as I went. I've seen some guides on the net for articulation, but it's usually done on the inside of the doll using plastic joints, where as mine are on the outside. I'm so in love with this doll that I'm looking for new ways to give movement to the dolls - it really adds a lot of life to amigurumi.

I wrote the pattern for it, but I don't have the kinks and some of the details added to it just yet.

Suncatcher Eyes is THE BEST place to get eyes. It's a one-lady operation and she pays amazing attention to detail. They're a little more expensive than buying them from the craftstore but she offers eyes in every color of the spectrum of and sells each color in a full range of sizes. Every time a new shipment comes in I'm in awe of her craftsmanship.

Why do girls have it so easy? by VortexJonesin sex

Uh...okay. Just because they've never pointed it out doesn't mean they didn't think/feel it. How many of them have you seen actually approach a taller girl? How many have you approached? It's not a matter of whether or not you'd date her, it's more a matter of whether or not you have the sack to possibly emasculate yourself by talking to a chick who's taller than you. And of course it doesn't add up to you. I'm assuming you've never been an almost 6' tall woman.

I'm 5'11", so not really that tall (in my opinion), and I find myself attractive, plus I'm self-confident, etc etc. But people, especially men, treat me like I'm Andre the Giant's ugly red-headed step-child. I don't go for shorter guys specifically, but I find that I'm attracted to the proportions of shorter, stockier, chubster men. The Jack Black body type, if you will. It's not an exact science for me. Any amount shorter will do. My boyfriend is about half an inch shorter than me, and even that height difference does it for me. I wear heels whenever possible to add to the gap. Luckily he doesn't mind and has dated girls even taller than me before. But he's also the only dude I've been able to score a date with in my 23 years, and that's not from a lack of trying on my part. Most guys either ignore me altogether, or take it one step further and put me down for it in front of my less attractive, shorter friends. I was taller than everybody in my school until about junior year of highschool so I was never asked out on dates or to dances.

But enough of my sob story. Just rest assured that it's not easy for us girls. I've got a friend who's my age who isn't unattractive by any means, but she's extremely intelligent, which men, especially in her area, find intimidating. She's still a virgin and going totally insane from it. I can't even imagine.

It kind of seems like something's got to give. Women are as tall as men now, and as smart, and men need to get a clue and catch up. Our pussies feel just as warm and squiggy.

BUT, I will add that I'm bisexual, and I'm typically attracted to girls who are shorter than me. Taller girls tend to be a little more...I want to say aggressive, but "forward" would probably be a better word for it. I know my height adds to the way I carry myself because I know I can "take on" most people I meet, so I'm not a timid little doe who needs a strong buck to protect her, and I sometimes I think maybe guys are just designed to want to protect in order to feel needed.

With all due respect, that's your opinion. I teach crocheting and I stand by what I said. When it comes to learning a new skill like guitar or crochet it hardly matters which hand is dominant, and in most cases a lot of people would argue that practicing anything with your non-dominant hand is good for your finger dexterity and your brain. But again, it's just an opinion, and everybody's got one.

Don't let your left-handedness get you down. If I were you I would learn how to crochet right handed. It might be tricky at first but it will ultimately make it easier for you to learn and improve. My boyfriend teaches guitar lessons and always encourages left-handers to learn on regular guitars for those same reasons. As far as simple starter lessons and projects go, I highly recommend the book Happy Hooker. It explains in vivid detail all of the stitches you'd probably ever need to use, and anything beyond that can usually be found on YouTube.

I'm not religious in any way, but my family on my dad's side are all Mormon, and they all have a ton of kids/grandkids, so I make the Biblical dolls for them as gifts and they've been a huge hit so far. They're some of my favorite dolls to make.
