TIL That Wash's line "I am a leaf on the wind, which how I soar" was the chant of the Japanese kamakazi pilots during the second World War. by Th3_Hegemonin firefly

Looking through the nets. It seems to be one of those things people accept but theres not any hard evidence attributing it to the kamikaze pilots.

Questions about current state of Irelia and need advice. by Arliganin LeagueofLegendsMeta

[–]Samarang 0 points1 point ago

She is perfectly viable in soloq as in pre-made team comps. Her late game is where Irelia truly shines. If you've managed to farm enough and build a good set of items to counter their team comp you will be practically unstoppable. Its important to remember that her passive increases the more enemy champions shes around so during a team fight snares, stuns, etc will mean almost nothing to you. As long as you can survive the damage which if you farmed alright shouldnt be a problem. Building her is a matter of preference, I have seen all kinds of Irelias but what I like to build is the standard 'meta-golem' build. Usually Frozen Mallet (Or Warmogs), Atmas Impaler, FoN, Wits End, boots, and something else. Sometimes I will switch out Atmas for a Randuins or have that as my last item if I feel that I want more utility from my build. Her real damage is from the true damage when her W is activated, which is why you should always try to build some kind of attack speed on her. A lot of people build Trinity because it has everything Irelia needs, some HP, attack speed, ability power, and the sheen proc. When in team fights as long as you can keep your wits about you, you will generally be getting the Sheen proc a lot. Between activating your W, Bladesurging to some carry, or using Equilibrium Strike to slow/stun someone.

Jungle advice needed! by nlyon326in LeagueofLegendsMeta

[–]Samarang 0 points1 point ago

I jungle Shy quite often and some advice I can give is to start boots on her, I usually run lifesteal quints (1 or 2) plus the lifesteal from masteries. This life steal combined with her twin bite is usually enough to keep her pretty healthy in the jungle. I get boots and try to gank at lvl 3 if I can (Burnout - Twin Bite - Burnout). With the speed boost plus red buff ganking can be easier. Try to let your teammates know that you will try to gank soon so they can adjust or level up a certain skill. When you come for a gank try not to stop and sit in the bush. Move through the river and activate burnout at the edge of the bush as you leave or later depending on how far they are.

TL:DR Boots, two ranks of burnout, dont wait in bushes.

Jungler's weak spots? by MrTacoBroin LeagueofLegendsMeta

[–]Samarang 1 point2 points ago

There are basically two jungling types; gankers and farmers. Gankers need to gank soon and gank early to maintain their dominance throughout the game. These are usually the people that can gank pre-6. Lee Sin, Udyr, etc. Others need to farm heavily and then gank, usually those that require 6 such as some of the AP jungles (Fiddle being the archetype). Knowing which one your facing will help you decide what you need to do. Within the ganker/farmer ones are people who are better at invading or resisting invasion. For instance Shyvanna lately has been shown to be a very effective at invasions/resisting due to her Burnout and Twin Bite but her ganks are considered sub par. Aside from observing their jungle in champ select it is very beneficial to have someone with Clairvoyance CV their base when the match begins. By knowing what the jungler has you can guess their routes. A Nocturne with a Vamp scepter is going for a very aggressive jungle and will probably be getting a heavy pull on blue and maybe even some help on red. So a first level invasion may not be a good idea unless you can see people on the other lanes. A jungler that starts with Cloth+5 pots is a conservative jungle and will probably be left to their own devices after blue pull, leaving you open to counter them after blue. Aside from the actual jungler there are some players that are very in tune with their junglers and may immediately move to help them in a counter. Other times and Im sure all us junglers have experienced this, despite a healthy amount of pings no one will move to help you at all and you can either run or fight. There are some jungles you should never go into, one primarily being Shaco. Shaco will always evade you and more often than not chasing him will result in running into a faceful of JiTBs. You dont see Singed jungle much but when you do chasing him around in his jungle is never good either, one of the primary LoL rules apply here; Never chase a Singed. Hope this helps a little.

Does Eve fit anywhere in a standard game? by TychoVeliusin LeagueofLegendsMeta

[–]Samarang 0 points1 point ago

If you're going for her because of her stealth abilities you're much better off trying to jungle or roam Twitch. Shes just far too weak right now, its somewhat of a catch-22. She wont get buffed unless more people play her and get Riots attention but no one will play her because shes so weak. If you do choose to play her then you need to be prepared for a lot of raging.

It probably is. I think all the major Noxian players were supposed to get their own Noxian elite skins, similar to their counterparts the Demacian commando skins. Just keep hoping.

Planning to do some back traveling, learn survival, and practice martial arts. What are your suggestion and/or forewarnings about my likely death by hypothermia or dehydration. by u_dreamingin Survival

[–]Samarang 1 point2 points ago

Ive been a martial artist for 20 some years, I stopped by because I was curious. Why the martial arts? For physical fitness or just some kind of nature thing? Aside from that take baby steps, find places that have "primitive" campsites at national parks. It will let you go out into the wilderness but in areas that are known and traveled by other campers. Good for the first leg of the trip and when you get more comfortable go off the well beaten path.
