I'm not sure how you can stop it, but it doesn't surprise me that you'd have these dreams. You've lost so much by death's hand that it's become an overarching fear. My only recommendation is to love those you're close to and live with them in the moment. Perhaps it will take your mind off of what could happen to them and towards what you have done together.

I'm very sorry to hear about this though. I've been lucky. I lost my grandmother to cancer when I was very young, so I can't remember her, and I lost my grand dad a few years ago. I didn't know him too well, but the few times we spoke during the end of his stretch, I probably saw more of myself in him than anyone else I'm related to. Truth be told, death is not something I'm very familiar with, but it almost seems cruel that so many others have lost so many loved ones, or worse, those who's lives see death as a regular occurrence. Sorry for pouring out like this. Your post just got me thinking.
