this a good bike to start with? by budsmoke420in bmx

[–]Ringo45 0 points1 point ago

In this price range maybe go with the Kink Gap? It's what I bought, and it has served me well so far without issue. It has more chromoly components and with some new tires, pedals, and grips, is pretty comfortable to ride (about $50 more in parts). Used completes are the way to go if the are in good condition. If you want to get something off of Dan's Comp, I'd suggest the Gap.

Angry much? In languages, for convenience, people speak in commonly understood terms to avoid having to explain everything. I obviously mean BMX as in a BMX bicycle, and I am not trying to wrongly classify street and park riding as Bicycle Motocross. There is something called context, which must go way over your head.

If you want to be an asshole about technical uses of terms, then don't try and insult me with a inappropriate term towards homosexuals. Also, I raced actual motocross and desert enduros for years (you know, with a motorcycle), so don't get all upset about me supposedly marring your precious little racing term.

By the way, how old are you? Either you're a rude little teenager, or you're way too old to speak like an immature kid to people.

Thanks for these pointers. I, too ride left foot forward. I am equally comfortable rotating both directions, but I'm trying to get clockwise fakies down first because I feel slightly better rotating counter-clockwise with airs, so I think learning opposites will be easier in the long run.

Dear developers, this is why you should make your games moddable.(fixed) by rockstar180in gaming

The profits from the sales volume of CS for such massive playerbase spread over 11 years far outweighs the profits made from developing a new game each year (development costs, marketing costs, distribution costs have to be taken into consideration) with a smaller playerbase and far less yearly sales.

Point is, short-sighted companies are concerned with yearly earnings, but turning out one great game with a long lifespan and great support can be better in the long run than yearly iterations with smaller profit margins.

Thanks for these tips. I'm decent at riding backwards, and I think my area of trouble is more in the final turn to slide around to riding forward again. Would you suggest being able to ride fakie for longer distances, and then try learning the final rotation?

A lot of tutorials suggest 1 to 3 pedals back before rotating, should I keep it limited for practicing fakies or just try and pedal backwards as long as I can?

I need to learn fakies. I've had my BMX for about 3 weeks now and have bunnyhops, double pegs, and airs pretty solid. Landed some feebles today. Now I want fakies so I can 180. Then on to getting manuals eventually.

I'm pretty close, and usually get the bike to turn with the fakie, but just don't lift/turn my head enough for the final 90 out.

GoPro Mounting? by ThePeenin bmx

[–]Ringo45 0 points1 point ago

I've used the bar mount on the top tube, back towards the seat. Gives a cool angle through the bars. Also, helmet mount angled so I can capture the front of the bike and what's upcoming. Takes some time to get just the right angle though.

Another hole in the argument I saw was that his release of Scary Monsters came so soon after his EP that there was no way for him to progress that quickly. The argument claims he couldn't have learned that much about FM snythesis in that span of time.

I've watched my friend go from knowing nothing of music production to producing great tracks in little over a year. In the past couple of months alone, he's began learning synths to a level of producing sounds that I've never heard anything similar to. The guy who posted this greatly underestimates the amount of learning that can happen in just a couple to few months, if the artist is really committed to his work.

'MCA' of the Beastie Boys has died - RIP by IntelligentYinzerin Music

[–]Ringo45 1 point2 points ago

I thought about life like this the other day: up to the day you die, your body has depended on the continual existence of life in some form from the earliest emergence of bacteria that would lead to each successive creature in the history of the earth.

Literally, every living creature preceding your life in the chain of producing offspring had to pass on continuing life, without break, to allow for your birth. Until you die, you are carrying this life within you, and many pass it on before their time with it ends. Each new person's life encompasses the entirety of all preceding life as a sequence on this planet.

Yes, that is pretty common, because in order to flip the drive side you have to get special parts. I'm just saying that of the left-side drives I've seen, most have been with right-foot-forward riders. Being right-foot-forward doesn't mean you have a left-side drive.

I'm pretty sure Gates is already at this ratio of giving. Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought I've seen such numbers before.

I feel like the game is more balanced (save for a particular gun that is glitching), then it has been since launch. I've had more fun playing since the patch then ever. Getting shot at should suppress strongly, bullets whizzing by your head are no light matter.

I've seen a good number of people with left-side drives. Mostly right-foot-forward riders.

Honestly I'm not sure many people except very experienced riders can notice much a of a difference in weight. Learn on a strong and reliable setup.

With all of his organized gear, he didn't have a blade with a handle to cut a decent stencil? The stencils were so rough and poorly cut. All his talk about being patient with spray paint should also have been applied to patient and clean cutting.

But yes, this whole project makes no sense in terms of purpose.

Farewell launch day Xbox360... by Pitmonkey783in gaming

I'm still running my launch day PS3 as well. I've never had any issues with it. I have no doubt that 360s and PS3s can go for quite a while with proper care. That is, if hardware or software weaknesses don't intervene.

A similar explanation tells why time feels to move faster and faster with age: a year, day, or even hour is proportionally much larger when we are young compared to the amount of time we've lived through when we're older.

17 years old, too late to start BMX? by PalmyGuyin bmx

[–]Ringo45 0 points1 point ago

I'm 22 and just getting into it for the first time. I've ridden motocross and then moved to mountain biking in the last year, so now I'm also riding BMX and I'm having a blast. As long as you're in good shape then age doesn't matter too much. You're still really young.

I'd definitely call this a project. 365 drawings is quite the ritual in itself. The heavy community interaction distinguishes it as a project in my mind. Other than funding for an exhibition, this seems to be the other direction of crowd-funded art projects.

Preventing flats? Ghetto tubeless? by Ringo45in bmx

[–]Ringo45[S] 0 points1 point ago

I think you're right. I feel generally comfortable with most riding. My bunnyhops are progressing quickly with more height and distance. I mostly need to get confident in the bike, having smaller is somewhat hard to trust with certain landings. But overall, the bike feels so damn light and easy to throw around. Manuals and balance points are going to take a while though.

I bet I could run higher PSI without issue like you said. I guess I'm just a sucker for easy upgrades already haha. Plus, I'll have a spare set of okay tires in case I'm in a pinch (no pun intended). I do feel like I'll enjoy 90+ PSI underneath, so I think it's more than worth the small price.
