Reddit: I want to run for a State office. I need all the advice imaginable. by RevInstantin AskReddit

I wanted to know if there was a way to dissolve higher govt, not local. It was something I wondered after watching a special on the British Parliamentary system. I know that politicians can be impeached, but I wasn't sure if there was a course of action for an entire body in the United States. It was more so a question born of curiousity than actuality.

Great advice. Would you happen to know any websites that specialize in info for that kind of stuff? Obviously I know or Senators and some local reps. Just uncertain as to specific groups.

I figured that I could do more good trying to change things when I'm inside the system.

I need ANY one of these for my four year olds room. He just saw Empire for the first time and thinks he is Luke.

Tusken is fucking hardcore. Could you do an Imperial Guard in their ceremonial red garb? I'd die the happiest man ever.

I used to work in an office that would contact customers regarding hospital bills. We would basically fill in the blanks on hospital forms and use their insurance info to process payments. My day consisted of making and receiving phone calls regarding the visits while making sure the insurance records were complete. I had to make a call once to a woman, she answered and as soon as I mentioned who I was she just broke down. Curious as to the reason I used her name from the file and patched together what I could from her hospital record. It turns out her son had just graduated and died on his way home from college. His medical bills were in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, a common sight. But what wasn't common was that her insurance was refusing payments across the board and that was unacceptable. Apparently she was nearing the deadline for submittal and if that happens than the company would fight payments until the sun stops shining. So...against HIPAA and my better judgement I had a friend in another department get me her information and her sons, I contacted her insurance carrier and posed as a doctor making an authorized submittal. I contacted her again a few hours after it processed and told her. All she could do was thank me and broke down again. I double checked the file a month later and they paid all of the bills.

If you don't like something because it's popularity...then why are you on Reddit?

Hoping someone could help edit this for me? by RevInstantin Art

I would be incredibly appreciative if someone could edit this so The Illusive Man and the Mass Effect logo aren't in the shot. In short I just need his office and the window, with the shot of the galaxy without him.

Thanks again and I'm sorry if I put this in the wrong sub!

Throwaway time! What's your secret that could literally ruin your life if it came out? by ohgoshwheretobeginin AskReddit

Almost everyone I know is aware of that fact that I tried to commit suicide shortly after I graduated high school. My first GF of four years basically came clean about lying to me for the entirety of our relationship, I had take "year off" to try and help my mom but could t find a job and she was on me constantly to find something. I was severely depressed and one night I sat against my bedroom door with my shortsword and started dragging it across my wrist. I stopped when I saw blood, told my mom and we worked it out. What no one knows is that I tried a second time after the birth of my son. I found out very shortly after his birth that his mother had been sleeping with her ex and had plans to leave me. I was destroyed in every conceivable definition of that word. I had made it very clear that I didn't feel we were ready to be parents, both emotionally and financially. Her and her whole family swore support so I caved and did everything I could to prep. It was almost three months after his birth that I found out. I remember because I got hammered and went to the Dark Knight premiere. Next day I took my son and raised him along with my mom and sis's help for a year before she became a regular interval in his life. I would have good days and bad days. People would say "at least you have your son" but what they didn't understand was that I only saw him as my failure to create a "family". Around the six month mark I was sitting in my room after laying him down and started slowly digging my pocket knife into my neck. It went on for about five minutes, with a pretty serious knick that bled for about twenty minutes before I realized what I was doing. My son just had his fourth birthday and I haven't even remotely considered the idea since and have actively worked against suicide with friends and my community.

I also used my hose nozzle gun as an "Independence Day" cannon on an anthill when I was ten. All those poor souls lost to the void...
