There's some neat commands in the game that are available, as I understand. Pressing I think 'U' while hovering over an item in the inventory menu shows you it's recipe, for example.

My not understanding all the new content is half the fun. I know how to make a piston, but a nuclear reactor? I'm down for that.

The technic pack is awesome, because it manages to do what all the individual mods can't. It works, no hassle, no tweaking installs, finding how to fix conflicts between mods, six pieces of 3rd party software...

Manually installing these great mods together is like getting Oblivion mods to work.

Using technic is like Steam. It. Just. Fucking. Works.

I work with the developmentally disabled. The condition referred to in the original post is probably PICA. Yes, everything is food. Had a client choke to death on a glove when nobody was watching them, found the other glove already in their stomach during the autopsy. It's a very real condition, generally associated with mental retardation.

That being said, the client I work with personally who has this condition has no problem wetting his 'attends' (adult diapers), then spanking it with the new found 'lubrication', followed up by tearing the soaked cotton out of his diaper, and eating the sticky, yellowed pieces.

So, in short, I believe the post is real.
