Hey man - in 2006, my uncle went to the hospital because he started throwing up blood. Turned out that he had stage 4 cancer, which is typically terminal. All his doctors told him that he was going to die and that there was a 0.001% chance that he would survive after having reviewed the results of his tests. They started chemo anyway, even though they made it very clear that they thought it was pretty much a waste of time given how much the cancer had spread.

Fast forward to 2011 and I'm headed to New York at the end of September to go fishing with him. His cancer is in complete remission and hasn't shown up since.

So keep your head up (though it sounds like you already are)

By the way - I live in Royal Oak, so I'm not too far away. As "-jay-" mentioned below, I can stop by with a PS3 or Xbox if you don't mind getting schooled :) Or would that be a super creeper move...? I think a Fry meme might be appropriate here.
