First thing I should mention is that I think Betsy has been off character for the whole of X-Force. I feel she is too cold. Betsy always use to be warm hearted and kind but also distant as she was cool and collected: I see why the writer got confused.

So first we have the cold relationship between Betsy and Brian which came out of nowhere. I could forgive this, Brian is disgusted with her actions of late and he is dealing with a lot of stress. We then have Psylocke complain at his inability to defend the X-Men, even though this has never been his responsibility before. Which just struck me as odd. Nothing too major so far but the way they treat each other betrays their characters.

The real problems with his character comes from what happens next. At first he starts trying to force her to basically to join him as a defender of Otherworld. This is a brutal family line which has never existed before and Brian has always been someone to take the burden upon himself (one of his biggests flaws is his inability to rely on others and yet he has kidnapped his sister to work with him?). Then he promotes an execution of a man, literally erasing him from all existence. Keep in mind this is a man who positively hates killing and was a pacifist for about a year. He doesn't even decide this himself, he leaves it up the Captain Britain Corps (a group which had sentenced him to death before in a corrupt manner. He seriously trusts them?). He also sent Meggan away from him, which just struck me as off.

All his dialogue was off, he didn't sound like Brian.

Meggan was also fucked. She was way too knowledgeable about what was going on. In fact, all the characters were way too knowledgeable about Otherworld, even Betsy who had only been there once before.
