New immigrants in Canada, have property in China. Guidance please. by cleaningallthethingsin tax

[–]Nideas 0 points1 point ago

As Congee mentionned, please do read the CRA link and information because international tax treaties apply BEFORE the income tax act. By doing so, you'll be able to claim your foreign tax credit and pay little taxes to Canada in 2011.

fathers with sons: he says he is gay; how do you react? by rmx_in daddit

HIGH FIVE kid! It's going to be tough through school, but it will get better and better once you start college. Oh, and did you know that homosexuals make more money than heteros? And, given the right people, finding a place to live is also easier (gay people have a reputation of keeping appartments clean - it's positive discrimination). Just stay away from the haters, keep yourself healthy, use plenty of protection and if you need anything, your dad will ALWAYS, ALWAYS be with you.

rmx_ remember, you don't NEED to know EVERYTHING about your child's life. Some things are private and should stay that way. The best thing you can do is to take it one step at a time. First accept him, then keep up with him and eventually meet his boyfriend. Just like growing up, it's one thing at a time.

Finally, this might help you see how much of a difference you can make. Cheers.

Nestle offers a baby package for new parents, which includes milk formula and a back pack to carry the diapers. But be warned, once you've subscribed and received the 50$ worth of stuff, YOU WILL receive a lot of publicity.

Personnally, I dread the insurance fright calls.

That's something else you want to shop for and get educated about: life insurance and a will. Edit: link.

First: breathe. Humankind survived through centuries without all that "essential" stuff.

Remember that most lists are recommendations made by publications (paper and online) to sell stuff promoted by the advertisers.

Acrobeles gave the best answer: talk with real recent parents.

Lots of stuff are useless, like the cones to prevent the little guy's piss from flying when you change his diaper. Falls off anyway.

I went with a lady friend to a baby store and she explained how 3/4 of the stuff is superficial. Patterns on a changing pad? It'll be soiled eventually. Keep your money and go with the blank one.

Remember: it's gradual. You don't need to buy EVERYTHING all at once. A couple of things at a time will be good.

Edit: grammar.

  1. Total sacrifice. If you are a parent that is unwilling to sacrifice you weren't ready for kids.

Humm... humble question: what about careers? I'm having my first baby (boy) late september/october and I'll be at the university doing my accounting classes. I want to be an accountant. I've already lowered my amount of classes so I can help with the newborn, but I'm really scared of financial security for the next few years. Next summer will be the time for my first internship in a firm and I'm afraid/don't know how to deal with the workload and parenting aspect of it. Any advices?

How do you keep in touch with your guy friends? by partofaplan2in daddit

My guy friend who has 2 daughters made a deal with his wife: tuesday, wednesday and thursdays are his, monday and friday are hers. That's the basics, but then, life happens so they have to take care of that too.

Other solution is to host a big guy friend party two to four times per year. And keep in touch on the phone.

Also - online gaming.

The highlighted text was exactly what the teacher mentioned in class. So even if the student didn't read his book, or missed class, we knew what was important, and what was less important.

Otherwise, well, you saved $ on books.

Depends on the distance between the tooth and the nerves. Mine were far, so it was an easy job for the dentist.

Also, talk to your dentist about your fear of the pain, and ask him the truth for your case.

Good luck!
