Why would language-change be more likely to be towards what you consider an improvement, versus towards other possible changes?

Pretty sure there exists some situation somewhere in space time where endorsing rape will be funny to some group of people.
From kevdotbadger's suggestion and yours though, I assume both of you meant I should focus on getting a concept out the door and not worry about the low-level nitty-gritty stuff like physics. Is that correct?
I don't know what you mean by "a concept", or "low-level" or "physics", but the idea is don't even bother making it good, and if necessary, don't even bother making it a game. Focus more on making it finished.
For example, start by making your program render some terrain tiles. Don't make bad guys, don't make power ups, don't even make a hero. Just render the terrain.
If you can't reach this stage, then hopefully you'll see why you shouldn't even bother worrying about any of the next stages.

Well, one big problem is my intuitive definition of "capacity for" is not compatible with determinism. I may consider myself "capable of" learning to play the flute, but perhaps the universe is such that I will not ever learn the flute, and assuming the universe is deterministic, it is therefore impossible for me to learn the flute. I.e. it was determined, during the big bang, that I would not learn the flute.

Reading up on cognitive biases and logical fallacies has been useful in my daily life, as well as knowledge of the scientific method and probability theory.
Be careful of this, though, as once you know about some of the cognitive biases out there, it's very tempting to always dismiss all of your opponent's arguments as the result of biases, which of course, is likely to hinder you in your goal of being unbiased yourself.

Two girls can love each other without having sex. Two guys can love each other without having sex. A Christian and a Jew can love each other without having sex.
Edit: Fixed typo where I wrote "can't" instead of "can".
Not according to my intuitive definition for "capacity for".
I have the capacity to play the flute. Today I am unable to play the flute, but if I practice, there's nothing stopping me from learning how to play it. Merely "changing my mind" about things does nothing to change my capacity for playing flute. It would require a dramatic change, such as losing the use of my lungs, or losing all my fingers, to remove this capacity.
I don't have the capacity to fly. No matter how hard I practice, I will never be able to flap my arms fast enough to cause me to take flight. It doesn't matter what ideas I change my mind about, I still will not gain this capacity, unless drastic changes happen like I have surgically have cybernetic wings implanted into my back.
If you can gain the "ability" to like strawberry just by changing your mind about it, then I feel like you had the capability to like strawberry all along.

I had the reverse happen to me in Japan. There was a picture of a plate with 3 shrimps on it, so I pointed to that and I said I wanted one. He told me to sit down and served me free tea while I waited. Then he saw the look of disappointment on my face when he gave me only one shrimp, but we were both too/two socially awkward penguins to do anything about it, so I thanked him, ate it, and left.
Based on this definition, it sounds like it's possible to gain and lose the capacity for preference over time, just due to experiencing life and changing your mind about things.

I think she could genuinely understand it in a few days.
Completely on her own, or with your guidance?
I guess we just have different opinions on it and I guess I know a lot more people who are "apt to coding" than you do because really, a lot of people I know could do this.
I don't think it's so much that we know people with different aptitude for coding as we have different ideas of what kind of help the lawyer had in mind when he said it would take him 6 months to write rangeCheck.
We should play League of Legends together.
