Have been getting mixed signals the past week, and was ready to throw in the towel until today... by Named_after_the_dogin dating_advice

I think that's a possibility. She certainly did have exes on the mind, and V-day was one of the first things she mentioned. That makes me think she has been thinking about relationships (even though ex-talk is generally bad form for dating prospects). So I don't really know. If you're right, I would take it as a positive development.

For about the past week, almost zero contact. Before that, it was just hanging out for roughly 30-45 minutes after class a couple times a week. Other than that, I texted her once and emailed her once (the text was just to get her email address so I could send her something we had talked about). Admittedly, even if it's just a friendship at this point it is very early. We basically only picked this up about 2-3 weeks ago, but I've been trying to get some kind of signal to bring it to a dating level.

What should I do after a coffee "date?" by Named_after_the_dogin dating_advice

I didn't mean a date date, which is what I meant by quotations. But you've given me something to consider, since going out to get drinks could probably go either way as well. Maybe you're suggesting that I be a bit more forward next time? I know she's a big basketball fan, so what if I asked her out to dinner and got tickets to an NBA game?

Fair enough, though I don't actually think it was an issue. I let her go in front of me in line and she had her pocketbook out before I could say anything. It just seems like a gentlemanly thing to offer, and I like to be gentlemanly.
