I was in Vegas, and the only Kony stuff I saw going down was when I was stumbling around at night. Some teenage girls decked out in Kony 2012 gear were attempting to hang up some posters outside of Monte Carlo. They were about to cry because literally every group of people walking by them was telling them they were retarded and to go home.

They eventually stopped and walked away defeated.

22, this is the first year that I feel nothing for Christmas. I'm not religous, but I used to enjoy the whole feeling of it.

I work at a restaurant in the mall, and tips have actually gone significantly DOWN this month, and people are just so mean.

Good will towards men, blah blah, it should be like that all year. Not just for a week or two in December so you can feel less guilty about spending money you don't have, on junk someone else doesn't need, because that someone is getting you something you don't need.

I actually had someone steal a parking space from me on Christmas Eve today (i guess yesterday actually), then proceed to flip me off when I honked. He was dining in my restaurant when I finally got a spot and walked into work.

I guess this is the year I finally see the selfishness of people, so I just want Christmas to be over. It's just another Sunday for me.

It's not a common practice, but it can happen if you snap your fingers and disrespect the wrong server. You don't know what happens behind closed doors, so why risk it by being disrespectful to a complete stranger? Being polite, not overly friendly or phony, just common courtesy...will get you better service.

So, basically, a server employed at a restaurant with a rating lower than 4 stars isn't worth the same amount of respect as any other human being? As a server, I will tell you its very rude, and I will go out of my way to ignore you or take my time getting over to you.

Eye contact with some sort of hand gesture or saying "excuse me" is the respectful way to grab my attention.

Perhaps your diet soda stays empty quite frequently because your server has been annoyed with you, and they're in the back licking your glass or dropping your garlic bread garnish for your salad on the floor :-)

I'm 22 and I don't drink. I feel as though I'm constantly having to defend myself to my peers for not drinking. I just don't feel as though I have to drink, you know? If I'm having a good time and I'm not drunk, why make myself drunk?

Your question sums up how I've felt for a long time. You're probably just too intelligent for those you have to defend yourself to. Keep being a strong person, you shouldn't have to defend yourself.
