I seem to remember that it was shortly after the Mormons started donated huge funds to the scouts that the mandate about no gay scouts was put into effect.

That and no non-religious scouts...

Made eagle 20 years ago, and every time I read about the scouts being used to exclude kids due to orientation, or religious background, I die a little inside.

We all use it because it was built by a redditor for (largely) redditors. I cannot fault the owner for trying to pay for the services we so easily take for granted, and feel entitled to.

And for the record.. They don't make a dime on the content itself.. They are a hosting service..

Straight razors are such a pain in the ass to keep sharp, that for convenience they used to sell '7-day' sets... 7 whole razors, so you only had to strop hone one a day.. And could rotate through 7 razors to get your shave..

I lived shaving with my old Wade & Butcher but its a massive pain.. I'll take my DE any day.

Iron Sky is hitting theaters during blockbuster time.

Revolver probably thinks that by limiting Iron Sky to one day they'll have more screens open for stuff like Men in Black 3... But if they just get behind Iron Sky, they might have a cult hit, that requires little to no marketing, and generates 10x the viewing income of the big blockbusters.

The City Wide Garage Sale is every other month, and it's a good mix of professional vendors and garage sale guys.

Also: Round Top.. First week in April, and first week in October.. Starts up a couple of miles outside of Round Top Texas, it's about 300 yards deep of vendor boothed on both sides of the road and extends for like 5 miles, all the way into town. Once you get in town, it's like a country fair, only with antique dealers, and fleasrket stuff instead of rides. It's epic, and you can find literally anything..

Last april I bought: 2 1940's spun/cast aluminum naval light fixtures (awesome industrial fixtures) for $90, a working 1966 night vision scope (us issue viet nam) for $175, and a vintage coral bracelet for my girl $5

I'm really digging the blog. Thanks for building this. It's been a massive pain in the ass trying to get my place sorted out. It seems like there's nothing in between the kind of stuff you'd find at restoration hardware and pottery barn.. One extreme is perfect for retired rugby fans who like their furniture made in china (Massive props for doing the article on the South Carolina furniture folks at The Comfortable Couch Company btw.. just bought a beast of a sofa from those fellows) and the other is the kind of fuzzy lime green crap someone's wife would bring home.

I grew up having an idea in my head of what my future home would look like.. Glass, steel, wood, stone, and leather.. Maybe a slightly swankier version of something you'd see out of North by Northwest. Now that I've got the mortgage achieving the look has been damn near impossible. I'm hoping your blog can help get me there..

Thanks for putting the blog together. While mhender wants to avoid the unattainables, I'll vote for leaving the fru-fru shabby chic crap at the door.

This Forbes guy has a readership in the millions by the very nature of who he works for.. And he's attacking the oatmeal, who uses a web-comic as his primary means of income.

While the oatmeal's comic wasnt 99% accurate, it was largely entertaining, and got people interested in Tesla, in the 2 minutes it took to read his info graphic/comic.

So anyway Forbes guy ripping apart some of the 'facts' of the Oatmeal's comic, essentially to generate his own page views is just blatantly bad form.
